In recent years, the rapid expansion of digital technology in Africa has brought numerous benefits, enhancing communication, education, and business opportunities. However, this digital revolution has also given rise to a concerning trend: the surge of tech-facilitated abuse. This includes a range of malicious activities such as cyberbullying, online harassment, digital identity theft, and privacy violations. The webinar "Preventing and Combating the Surge of Tech-Facilitated Abuse in Africa" aims to address this growing challenge. It will provide a comprehensive overview of the current landscape of tech-facilitated abuse in African nations, discussing its various forms and the unique socio-economic factors contributing to its prevalence in the region.
The discussion will also delve into the nuanced challenges presented by technology abuse in the UK, illustrating how digital advancements, while beneficial, have also facilitated new avenues for abuse. It will underscore the need for updated laws, increased public awareness, and collaboration with tech firms. This part of the speech will serve as a call to action, emphasizing the UK's dedication to adapting its policies and approaches to ensure safety and support for everyone in the face of digital age challenges.
Furthermore, this session serves as an opportunity to explore the potential of technology in responding to instances of domestic and sexual violence. It will explore technology's opportunities in connecting survivors across Australia and the world.

With high prevalence rates and low reporting rates, there is a pressing need for comprehensive prevention programs that change the culture on college and university campuses across the U.S.. Confronting campus rape culture requires all of the student population to be educated and engaged in becoming part of the solution – including those often in the best position to prevent sexual assault from happening, namely young men.
The NO MORE Foundation hosted a webinar to raise awareness of sexual assault on campus, inspire activism, and provide tools for college men and women to say NO MORE to end sexual violence within their academic communities.

This is a huge step forward in ending child marriage in the UK, across the world One in every five girls is married. Worldwide, more than 650 million women alive today were married as children. Every year, at least 12 million girls are married before they reach the age of 18. This is 28 girls every minute. One in every five girls is married, or in union, before reaching age 18.
Girls as young as ten are legally getting married in the United States – nearly 300,000 since 2000, (Unchained At Last). With no protective federal law in place, over 20 states allow for child marriage at 16 years, and 10 have no age limit whatsoever.
The session will look at the impact of child marriage, how it enables sexual violence to thrive (in some cases is directly related to protecting a perpetrator of sexual violence) and what we can do to end it.

Artistic expression is a well documented way for survivors of trauma to share their experience as well as be part of their healing journey - and can be an effective tool for expression, personal growth and recovery from domestic and sexual violence. Artistic expression often has the capability to reach deeper into the emotional and personal effects of trauma.
Different creative outlets, from music therapy, textile making, dance, to poetry writing are known to promote healing for survivors of trauma. This creative process, and the resulting artistic expression, provide a way for survivors to explore their feelings, reconcile emotional conflicts, and facilitate a greater understanding of their experiences to the world around them.
