I've been pouring my heart into this project for the past 30 hours. I've recently been on both a Steven Universe binge, and I've been (re)watching all of Makoto Shinkai's films, and some sudden inspiration gave birth to this AMV.

I made this because the the past two months have been incredibly difficult for me. I've been dealing with the aftermath of a home invasion, I've fallen deep into depression, I face isolation on nearly every front, and I live in constant fear that the people I love have and will abandon me.

There are few things I can do to change the situation -- if there was an obvious answer to all/any of it, I would have done it by now. I've come to realize that the only thing I can do is continue to take steps forward, and to take care of myself. Getting through every day is challenging.

Above everything else, the most important thing I've been learning these past two months is self-love. Being gentle with myself, processing accepting hardship, and allowing myself to heal.

I take the interpretation of Rebecca Sugar's "Love Like You" in a variety of ways. Love, the definition of your love being another person. Love, the act of loving, and wanting to love yourself as much as others have loved you. There's so many ways to look at it.

For myself, self-love is inspired by the people who love and loved me. I aimed to show that here, somehow. Here's my homage to the director Makoto Shinkai, whose films portray love in all forms. Shinkai's films rest very close to my heart: they symbolize comfort, change, growth, beauty, peace, and of course, Love.

Dedicated to Travis, whose love is transformative.

I got off for summer break today, and it's my birthday tomorrow [June 6th in case YouTube goes stupid again]. I took this afternoon to reflect on this past year and when I think back, I thought of all the sadness and doubt I felt with the things that left me feeling so helpless and alone. But, I then remember the friends that helped me through it all. Because of my feelings, I didn't realize how much they actually care[d], so looking back makes me choke up because I now see how fortunate I am to have amazing friends who were there - those who supported me even when I might have unintentionally shut them out.

And so, this AMV is dedicated to those friends. Whether they watch this or not, I needed to get my feelings out and thank them somehow. :'3

This is a recording of my high school orchestra's performance of "Peace" - yes, "Peace" as in the finale song from ATLA. /prepare yo feels!

A few months back I watched NOVO perform this song live and I had this really renewed love for the soundtrack in general. [The Track Team's amazing.] So, I sat there and thought, "It would be so cool if we could do this too." From there, even though I thought I'd never get a reply, I went ahead and contacted the Track Team... and the rest is history.

I had a really fun time with playing this piece - not only did I have an /interesting time -trying- to play on the violin [being a violist], it was interesting playing with our school's intermediate band.

There were bumps here and there - at one point I got really discouraged and I felt really guilty for suggesting this piece because /certain unnamed people constantly kept saying how much they disliked the song and the show and afjkaf;lkj. But in the end, I look back and just see it all as part of this experience - which I am so very thankful to have.

I'm so proud of everyone in my orchestra for having played this as well as we did at our concert - I thank each and every one of you!

Well, I was out of inspiration/time to edit my own part [FAIL], so I passed it onto a backup... who never responded to my messages. And then I went to another backup, and another, and I was doing a really shitty job at keeping up with them, and some of them didn't respond and then, OH CRAP, it's already March 2013. FINALLY HERE IT IS. I think this was one of the most painstaking AMVs I've ever made, but it was so worth it because this video is for the holidays! ^^ It's sorta both my present and a thank you for 500 SUBSCRIBERS. /dies of happiness.

Okay, so a year ago for Christmas (or just the holidays, which ever you want to say), I made a video with the same song to Avatar. Remix of the song, but still, the same song. For so long I've wanted to make a full AMV for it, but I never found my skills worthy enough to fit the job until now. So, part of the reason I did this video was to show my improvement from over a year ago until now. ^^

Vent video. I know it's bad with no timing and bad coloring... but all of my emotions went into this and it's just... -sigh-. The past few days have been really hard on me, and editing this helped be cope with my overwhelming emotions -- no idea why it helps, but it does.

The lyrics just pull at my heart and express its pain. ;_; [wow, that sounds like a really sad anime line. .-.] I just picked a sad song with THIS ANIME. Gosh, this anime is the most beautiful thing ever, but it's so sad at the same time. Every time I want to watch it I'm at war with myself because it's either I see the beauty and get hit with emotions, or not see it, spare my emotions, but not watch it. But in the end, it's my favorite anime (besides ATLA and LOK). IT'S SO AMAZING OH MY GOSH GO WATCH IT IF YOU HAVEN'T. ASDFJKL;. Oh and the manga too. THE MANGA MAKES IT MORE HEARTBREAKING.

Hmmm. What character did I pick for a one character [plus shipping in this case] MEP part? xD

This MEP part turned out to be a lot harder to make than I originally thought. I love Maiko, but there's not a whole lot of screen time for them that's really... angsty. Ya know? Ships like Zutara, Yuokka or Kataang are somewhat easier to do with this type of theme. And Mai herself is more of a badass character on screen. Yes, she has flaws too, but its not enough for my little 14 year old brain to process right now. xDD

On top of that, my inspiration for this MEP part was lost after my non-exsistant love life got happier. *cough* [and I know 'you' like Christina's music. T-T]

So. Do you kinda see my storyline? LOL, or at least little parts of it with the lyrics? xD
