Then caught a UP westbound crossing the diamond at the junction. I then headed off to Sugar Creek area caught 5 trains in about 35 minutes. Finally ended the day at Santa Fe Junction and in the west bottoms, alot of trains all over the place.

RC, P & E #3465 was handling the swithcing duties at the Newton Falls Paper Mill and then taking these cars to Rapid Falls. After setting them on the team track in Rapid Falls, #3465 returned to the Springdale yard with a block of cars that will be sorted out before the next ops session. KCS train #3 reaches Springdale yard and then finishes its day by dividing Train #3 onto its assisted tracks.

So I have just about finished the east wall area along what I call the canyon area. I did the west side of the layout about two weeks ago. I don't mind doing this, I use a tiny spoon and several different art brushed to smooth and form the ballast before wetting it down and adding my glue & water mix. Then I had to do a test run the next day to make sure everything was good.

(1) was just pulling out of Missouri Valley, Iowa when we drove thru town so I caught him just starting to get up to speed. With the speed limit at 55 we stayed close all the way to Carroll, Iowa. While In Carrell (2). Changed plans big time Sunday morning, we started east, but with 8" of new heavy snow, we turned around and headed back to Missorui Valley and I-29 south to KC. Good trip.

Things were at a stand still for BNSF on the Transcon except for lots of trains waiting for use on one track. Plenty of maintenance work and track inspection. Two westbound trains were waiting at Sugar Creek, so I headed east along MO #210 and things were not any better, trains all piled up with no where to go. On my return trip to KC it wasn't any better. Lots of trains sitting.

Heavy coal train with DPU climbs 1.8 grade #hoscale #hotrains #ho Dale Shipman 2022-12-27 | We open with train #27, westbound loaded unit coal train starting up the 1.8 grade to Lynne's Ridge. GE is providing all the power (Scaletrain units) KCS #5021 ET44AC-T4, NS #9555 C40-9W & DPU unit BNSF #4158 C44-9W. I weighted each car, 9 ounces. 46 cars on this train. 22 pounds train. Pulling power was pretty good. You defenitely could hear the units working up the grade. I started the train moving so it has about a 20' run before starting the run to the top of the grade.
