I found it again and went. Wow. its good. I really adore that I managed to do a progression of Holly's thought process from shock, to slow process of her emotion, to lashing out, all within some very dramatic head gestures. I kinda use this channel for "best of" animation highlights so. After Effects is still pretty weird w its timing unfortunately :( Some things turned out better in the preview vs the actual video but it's not worth thinking over imo. (I can’t stand how sudden and jerky some of the camera movements ended up being) Saddest bit i think is that it's harder to catch Sterling and Indy in that "All the love I just couldn't let go" bit because of how fast it flies past themAlso?!?! the style is experimental? I wanted to kind of do something similar to how old PMVs would use MS paint, also pixelated brushes just save time. If its not obvious I got inspired quite a lot by On My Way from Brother bear, and ended up attempting something disney-esque. I would've loved to cleaned up the backgrounds a little more, or been a bit more picky about how the camera/3D lines up with movement but unfortunately! I am not a studio, and a very impatient person who wants to just get it done. Champions Ballad MAP - Warrior OCs collab [Part 13-14] Rookruff 2021-05-01 | WOOO WARRIORS OCS!!!honestly, not many of mine come to life in illustration or animation, but I've been quite fond of these two featured here. I'm glad to have finally made something of them, yknow?!??! This video came with a lot of experimenting! I used an AI to try painterly shading on the animated characters, a particle effect for the petals and... most significantly, try replicate 3D of a (leaf) tunnel in after effects.Whew. that last one was a pain, for real. Took basically a whole day to set up all the layers, and then delete, rearrange, delete, change. Shoutout to some pals who listened to me lose my mind in call. TBH my fatal flaw was making the cats run at a certain angle, because I wasn't quite able to have the tunnel angled that same way as well without some other complications. It took a horrible amount of layers, too. But... I'll call it a somewhat successful thing? Who knows, if I'm feeling masochistic enough I'll retry to do it, better next timeANYWAYS IT WAS REALLY FUN!!! The BOTW Champion characters (and the game itself) are very dear to me and I love this song so much.
