[World Record] Red Ball 12 Levels in 2:35.968 Miniland 2023-02-18 | Really proud of this run! This run to me represents the end of the '3x era', as it incorporates every strategy every runner used when trying to break the 2:3x barrier for the first time: TAZ 3, Mug 7, PL8-8, 9x3, SMB11, and 3x choker, all executed to near perfection. On top of all that, this run was the first ever 2:35 pace to train, and in fact was the best pace to train by over half a second, making it even more insane to me that I clutched it out.I'm completely finished with this category for now although I may return for sub 2:35 some day, and I look forward to seeing others trying to beat this time in the future!I want to quickly shout out a few people for being incredibly helpful while I was learning this game or just being chill in vcs with me: Norxor, Luciousness, Mukmuk, Incredi, Maximum, Niftski, Poguin, Yak, Starline, Duskless, Sage, rbrt, and Vertic. The Quest For Sub 2:50 in Red Ball Miniland 2022-11-29 | LITERALLY two months late uploading this, but I got a 2:46 in Red Ball, which puts me at fourth place on the leaderboards! This run is absolutely perfect for the strategies I did, with zero mistakes and incredibly clean execution on everything. In fact, I managed to beat a large chunk of runs that go for harder strategies than I did, simply due to how clean my execution is. Needless to say, this is also the lowest attempt count record for a 2:4x by a MILE, bringing the record from over 1000 attempts by Niftski, to 420 attempts.I'd like to go for world record in the future, which currently would be the first ever run to break the 2:3x barrier. This is my first recorded run like this, after getting an unrecorded 4:54.64 from the same place a couple months ago, and is a big accomplishment for me as it proves I am capable of getting a mid 4:54 without tremendous amounts of difficulty. Tying the TAS to World 8 in Super Mario Bros. [PAL WR] Super Mario Bros. Any% Speedrun in 5:05.477 Miniland 2022-05-24 | First 5:05! This run is exactly what I was going for - 1-1 full FPG, 4-1 FPG, and one FPG out of 8-1, 8-2, and 8-3. My previous pb also had 3 FPGs in it, but had some minor mistakes costing multiple framerules such as a slower 4-1 and a bonk in 8-1. A handful of attempts before this run, I opted to use a slightly different route that allows me to play 8-4 a little safer, as I did in this run. I'm not super thrilled with how the 8-4 turned out as I had a less than perfect walljump and overjumped the return jump in turnaround room, but given that this time is over 2 seconds faster than 2nd place I'm not sure I can complain lmaoI will now be going for 5:04 by doing a floor clip in 1-2 to get the TAS double framerule save, and potentially 5:03 in the future![PAL WR] Super Mario Bros. 8-3 All Stars TAS / Triple Framerule Save Miniland 2022-01-09 | First ever TAS tie in 8-3! This saves three framerules over no backwards pole / no fpg, and two framerules over the current WR of 4:56.828 by Niftski.By getting FPG with a very high 242 AND backwards pole, the framerule align in just the right way to save an extra framerule. The issue with this is that you have to incorporate your FPG setup as a part of the slowdown for mushroom, which is almost guaranteed to require at least one frame perfect input. The setup that I found has you land on the first or second pixel of the row of blocks, jump the frame you land, release B mid air, walk on the ground for a few frames, jump, then repress B mid air and continue through to the rest of the level. Doing C40/D50 stair inputs gets D70/D50 depending on the pixel you landed on the earlier row of blocks, and gets I believe R01, meaning you can slowpg and still save the framerule.I found this framerule to be theoretically possible for humans in August of 2020 and got it full level on NES, but we didn't have a particularly viable setup for SNES until recently. I could probably see this being done on runs in the future, perhaps for low-mid 4:55. 4-2/8-1 Triple Framerule Save in SMB1 All Stars Miniland 2022-01-03 | First ever triple framerule save in these levels! This saves 3 framerules over WR, meaning that adding just this to WR would get a 4:55. To do this you first do the same 4-2 clip as in double framerule save while playing fairly optimally, then add 8-1 fpg. You have to play the first section of 8-1 without slowing down, including two frame perfect pipe jumps and a no slowdown goomba jump, then a frame perfect jump to D+R off a block to set yourself up for FPG. SMB1 All Stars 4-2/8-1 Double Framerule Save Full Level Miniland 2022-01-01 | This is the first(?) timesave of two framerules across the standard route in 4-2 and 8-1! Framerules aren't checked in warpzones in the All Stars version, so you can save a fraction of a framerule in 4-2 and a fraction of a framerule in 8-1, add them together and make a whole framerule. This applies here, where the 4-2 clip saves ~1.5 framerules, and the fast 8-1 movement saves ~0.5 of a framerule, altogether barely saving two framerules over WR. The setup I made for this clip uses a D+R on the ground for two frames to lower your subpixels from D5 to F7, then a frame perfect five framer to hit the right part of the pipe, then a left press to clip in. You have to wait in the pipe for a while, as jumping too early out of it gets you hit by the plant. You gain 30-35 xpos doing this, so the pipe entry is very lenient. Once you jump out of the wall, you have to slow yourself down by quite a bit to avoid getting hit by both of the next to piranha plants, but you have to balance that with making your movement quick enough to save the framerule. In 8-1, you are able to slow down on all of the pipe jumps, but the rest of your movement must be very fast to save the framerule.My 4-2 clip setup is imo much better than the previous setup that used a frame perfect B press on the ground, and this could very easily be used to get 4:55 / a lower 4:56. The TAS saves two framerules over this, by using a ridiculous clip in 4-2 that's debatably not RTA viable, and by doing FPG in 8-1. 8-1 FPG is much harder in this version as you have to do multiple double frame perfect pipe jumps + likely a frame perfect setup for FPG, but it is technically doable for humans. Super Mario Bros. Any% Speedrun in 4:54.981 Miniland 2021-08-07 | Super Mario Bros. Any% Speedrun in 4:54.981 [PB]I did it dude. Nearly 10k attempts, and the worst mental block I've ever faced in this game, but I got a 4:54. Even 9 months ago, when I started going for Low 4:55 / World Record, I had NO intention of trying for a 4:54. How could I? You needed PL8-1, a trick requiring a PERFECT fast accel and a top step FPG, along with an insane 8-4, which I'd pretty much never done either in even dead runs before. For months, I had virtually no clue how to do fast accel, but I poured thousands upon thousands of attempts into this until eventually I discovered a visual cue that clicked with me, and I got good, really good. The few sessions before this, I was averaging upwards of 50% with the perfect fast accel in 8-1, matching Niftski's consistency, and I would get runs to 8-2 every single day. All it took was one run to finally hit TAS 8-2, and we got this.I will be trying to improve this to a .8 now, which may be my last ever Super Mario Bros. [Extreme Demon] - Bloodbath by Riot + more 100% Miniland 2021-07-05 | [Extreme Demon] - Bloodbath by Riot + more 100%This is my fifth extreme demon in Geometry Dash, but my first one that's solidly well over the border of "kinda insane/extreme demon borderline e". I've been playing this on and off for the past two years, and I got 90% a few months ago after playing for around a week. I decided today to finally finish this off and completed it in one day, after deaths at 95% and 96%! In the far future, I'd love to beat much harder levels, perhaps including Black Blizzard or Digital Descent.As for SMB1, I'm still very much wanting of a 4:54, and I have been grinding almost every day offline since the beginning of June. This run got SO close to getting BBG, and in fact both of my jumps were done on the right frames, but instead of holding A for three frames off of the top step, I held A for two frames. 4:54 Pace Into 8-2! Miniland 2021-02-13 | 4:54 Pace Into 8-2!After TWENTY EIGHT failed 8-1 attempts (according to Sawyer), I FINALLY got the 8-1 framerule save on a WR pace run. This gives me a ton of confidence, as I'm really good at everything past 8-1. Any% Speedrun in 4:55.230To be honest, I'm kinda stunned that I managed to get this so quickly. It only took two more runs past 8-2 on Low 4:55 pace, but I managed to improve my old world record with a new world record, 4:55.230! This run is the first world record to include the first room fast accel in 8-4, in this case saving four frames, and it also beat the previous fastest 8-4 ever in a record by four frames. Only a few people have ever seriously attempted to learn it, and I may only be the second person to have completed World 8 blind. Super Mario Bros. Any% No Coins Speedrun in 5:01.687 [PB] Miniland 2021-01-17 | Super Mario Bros. Any% No Coins Speedrun in 5:01.687 [PB]This category is really strange - to speedrun this game while collecting no coins, you have to perform a walljump in 8-1 that arguably is just as difficult, if not harder than something like TAS 8-2. The setup is a frame perfect jump, and the walljump itself features two frame perfect jumps AND a frame perfect A release to avoid the coins. On top of that, avoiding the coins at the end of the level can be very tricky due to nerves. A 4:58 in this category would be possible, but that would probably be at least Low 4:55 difficulty, so it likely won't happen. 4:55.996 SECOND QUEST Speedrun Dies to Bowser... Miniland 2021-01-08 | 4:55.996 SECOND QUEST Dies to Bowser...In the past couple of days, I did some Second Quest Any% runs for fun. For those who don't know, you can press B upon beating Super Mario Bros. to start a new quest, where enemies move quicker, elevators are shortened, and just moving quickly through the game becomes much harder. These changes make speedruns much harder, as some time saves straight up aren't possible, such as 4-2 blazit. Additionally, many jumps are tighter, with an example being that the jump as you come out of the pipe in 1-1 having only a two frame window.To beat the current record of 4:56.412, I added in the TAS 8-2 framerule save, along with multiple fast accelerations in 8-4, to barely squeeze out enough time to get record. Somehow this run was just quick enough to get a 4:55, but I assumed it had fallen short so I didn't think to check for this Bowser pattern. [Former World Record] Super Mario Bros - Any% Speedrun in 4:55.314 Miniland 2021-01-02 | [World Record] Super Mario Bros - Any% Speedrun in 4:55.314I cannot believe it, but here it is: SMB1 Any% World Record. At the start of 2020, I was 11th place in Any% with a 4:56.911, and I realised that I could potentially get to a top level if I worked harder than ever before. The trouble was, some massive roadblocks began to set in. I spent over 6 months trying to get a low 4:56, only to be prevented by 26 failed 8-3s in a row. During that time, my consistency at everything else increased to near record level, but I just couldn't pb. After I finally got Low 4:56, however, the floodgates began to open, and I have since lowered my pb by nearly a full second in the past couple of months.Naturally, this record was in part thanks to everyone who has supported me and my streams over the past couple years, and the countless friends that I've made in this community, but I want to give an extra special thank you to Niftski, who took a break from Any% just so that other people could get to his level too, and so that we could all grind together for better times.I will be doing attempts very soon to lower this record even further, first to a 4:55.2, and then to a 4:54. Miniland 2020-11-21 | i tried to do this originally months ago the day after i got 8-1 fpg + tas 8-2, but wasn't able to get it after nearly 50 pl8-1s. today, i thought i'd try this again for fun, and ended up getting it after only 5-6 pl8-1s. 454 some day.
