Bright Object Over Dayton, Ohio June 18, 2019 Terry Caldwell 2019-06-20 | Saw this bright spot in the sky on Tuesday evening and took some video. I have zoomed in on it and found some things that are interesting like black objects, smoky body around it and small silver things that appeared and disappeared. I do have a tendency to say "that's interesting" too much but I was thinking out loud when I was going through the video. Hope you like and have fun.
Testing The Shure A15HP Inline High Pass Filter Terry Caldwell 2026-09-07 | In my VO booth I use a dbx286s channel strip to reduce noise via the 80Hz high pass filter. Recently I added a Y cable to be able to continue recording to my desktop Windows computer as well. The second line isn't able to utilize the dbx286s for the noise floor was considerably higher. After doing some research I decided to take a chance on an inline high pass filter by Shure and this is what I found.
Humidity Control In My VO Booth Terry Caldwell 2026-07-22 | My VO booth tends to feel very dry but when I built it I installed circulating fans to remove any moisture that could build up. The fans do a fair job but don’t move a high volume of air. After seeing the advertisements on television for DampRid I decided to get one of the collectors and try it out. Demon Hum Terry Caldwell 2023-06-19 | During a recording session I try to be aware of any background noises or even sounds like a grumbly tummy that might get into the recording. At random times during a variety of recordings I detect a noise in the background that sounds like an effect from the exorcist. The sound is one that I call the demon hum and can be unsettling. It’s low frequency and low volume and at times sounds like a monster leaning over my shoulder. Good thing I don’t believe in haunted VO booths. The problem was what I am calling a frequency fog - display of low level frequencies that aren't really audible and obscure finding what I needed to be able to see. I experimented with the preferences and may have come up with a solution.

I have some difficult noises that need to be removed from my recordings one of which is due to mucus pooling in the sinus above my soft palate. My Voiceover Room Part 7 Terry Caldwell 2021-03-20 | After switching to a dynamic mic I needed to add a Dbx 286s to boost the in put gain but the 286s wasn't switched. In order to resolve that I had to make a switch which was very easy with the help of some Youtube videos. I can now power on my other equipment and the 286s is there when I need it.
Lightning in clouds July 2, 2019 Terry Caldwell 2019-07-22 | Caught this storm cloud around 1:30 a.m. The lightning was almost continuous and the colors were amazing. The camera didn't capture all the oranges, purples etc. but its still amazing. Some of the flashes are out of focus since they were so bright.
