Hi-Intensity Damnation level gameplay using the Ironhelm Mk IV Thunder Hammer and Artemia Mk III Purgation Flamer.
Right off the bat, I'm not a fan of this variant of the Thunder Hammer and have a few gripes with it.
Firstly, the attack pattern is frustrating to me. The one vertical strike in the Heavy Attack pattern really throws off the flow and also leaves you vulnerable in hoard scenarios, which isn't really fitting for its supposed 'Crowd Control'.
Secondly when activated, I was under the impression that this hammer was meant to cleave through basic enemies like the Power Sword and it does, but not all of the time. Sometimes it randomly doesn't work and bounces of one enemy, leaving you completely vulnerable. I'm not sure of the reasons for this, but its very frustrating. I Initially thought it could be due to the helmets on the basic dregs/scabs, but I also had it once hitting a leg. If the Hammer is meant to cleave when activated, it should do it fully for all basic/non special units.
These two things together, make me resent using this variant, preferring the much better, Crucis Thunder Hammer.
I still need to bank better Blessings for the Thunder Hammer, but the Darktide Lottery hasn't come through for me yet.
Let me know your thoughts on the weapon down below, do you think its better or worse than the Crucis variant?
