My goal with this 2025 Suzuki DRZ4s build was simple: create a bike that has everything I love about the Honda CRF300L Rally (dual sport capability with decent fuel range and wind protection) but with more power and better suspension. I'm happy to report that after riding my Suzuki DR-z4s "Rally" build on the Oregon BDR start to finish, I think I've succeeded.
Nothing tests an ADV bike build like a week-long trip on a Backcountry Discovery Route. I packed up my motorcycle camping gear on my Suzuki DRZ 4s and set out to ride from the California border to Washington state, motocamping along the way.
This was the perfect test environment for a DRZ4s real world review. We tackled rocky, technical sections, deep sand, cow manure mud pits, long highway sections, and some of the most pristine and beautiful gravel road riding in the country. My Suzuki DRZ4s BDR build never missed a beat.
If I had to describe the perfect BDR bike...well it'd pretty much be exactly what I've done here with my DRZ build...except maybe for the MSRP.
