I wanted to know if it is any easier to drill through a pilot hole with a large bit. My friends suggested different things and this was one of them.
As I'm doing this I'm discovering new techniques for metal fabrication in an effort to build my 4x8 Plasma CNC. I'm using 11ga 2-inch square tubing for the Plasma CNC frame. The plans call for specific holes drilled in the center of the frame members offset by 1 inch and 3 inches from the ends. Then they are assembled in threes to form the frame. To make this go together easily the holes should be drilled exactly in the center of the square tubing and offset exactly by the 1 or 3 inches.
