After 5 natural births I have some honest thoughts about the pain-free birth narrative. I have a dear friend who can honestly say she has had a pain-free birth, but what if you felt pain and discomfort in your last birth? Does that mean you just didn't want it bad enough? Let's unpack this bc I think there is some toxic teaching out in the world about birth on both sides.
Finally, what if there is a purpose in the pain. I didn't share this quote in the video, but I wish I had...
