Eternal Dagger is the third studio album by the German heavy metal band Iron Kobra, released on June 19, 2026 by the label Dying Victims Productions (DVP 387). It is the successor to Might & Magic (2015), marking the group's return after more than a decade.
Formed in 2008 in Gelsenkirchen (Germany), Iron Kobra cultivates a raw, energetic and "old school" sound, faithful to the roots of 80s heavy metal, with strong influences from NWOBHM (Iron Maiden, Diamond Head), speed metal (Exciter, early Running Wild), bands like Cirith Ungol, Brocas Helm, Living Death, Manowar, Tank and even touches of punk.
The album reinforces the nickname "Cult of the Snake" and the theme of "swords & sorcery metal", with touches of fantasy, mythology and, in this work, a more sci-fi approach in some lyrics. The cover art, by Mario Lopez, follows the classic old-school style.
The album has 9 tracks with a duration of approximately 35-36 minutes, characterized by "old-school" production (recorded and mixed by Stefan Castevet, mastered by Patrick W. Engel at Temple of Disharmony). The sound is direct, with instruments competing organically, vocals with the characteristic echo of the era, sharp riffs, fiery double solos, and explosive energy.
