Apple’s first foldable iPhone is finally here. I went hands-on with the brand new iPhone Duo, and after spending some time with Apple’s $1,999 foldable, I’m impressed.
The iPhone Duo features a 7.6-inch folding inner display, 5.4-inch outer display, titanium design, A20 Pro chip, dual 48-megapixel cameras, MagSafe, and an incredibly thin design. Apple has also put a huge amount of work into minimizing the display crease with a new nanotexture finish and redesigned folding display.
But some of the most interesting parts of the iPhone Duo are the software. iOS adapts to the larger folding display, supports two apps side-by-side, introduces new half-folded experiences, and even turns the Duo into a standalone StandBy display without needing to be connected to a charger.
There are still some questions, including the lack of a telephoto camera, limited multitasking controls, long-term hinge durability, and of course that $1,999 starting price.
These are my first impressions after going hands-on with the iPhone Duo. A full review is coming soon, so let me know what you want me to test!
