*Description*
If your iPhone 17 Pro loudspeaker is crackling, buzzing, muffled, rattling, popping, or completely silent, the issue is often the bottom speaker (lower loudspeaker) module. In this HowFixit guide, I’ll show you how to replace the iPhone 17 Pro bottom speaker step by step—from safe screen opening and connector removal to speaker swap, testing, and reassembly.
You’ll learn how to heat and separate the display, disconnect the display and front-sensor cables, remove the cooling plate (optional), and uninstall the lower loudspeaker. After installing the new speaker, we do speaker testing and verification by playing audio to confirm clear sound.
To finish correctly, I also cover restoring water resistance: removing old adhesive, cleaning the frame with 91%+ isopropyl alcohol, applying new waterproof sealing tape, and pressing the display back into place for a proper seal.
Tools used include a Pentalobe 0.8 mm, Torx T4, Phillips 1 mm, plastic pry tools, tweezers, suction cup, and a screen disassembly tool.
