It's about 37 kilometers west of Kampot in southern Cambodia. I drove there on my bike from Sihanoukville which is about 120 kilometres away. This location was used to film the final scenes of the movie City of Ghosts. If you're in to exploring abandoned buildings then this place is awesome.

The temple is usually referred to as Doi Suthep although that is actually the name of the mountain. The temple is 15 kilometres from the city and from there you can see fantastic panoramic views of Chiang Mai. Unfortunately on this day it was raining so we didn't get to see the impressive views.

Many famous people are buried here and two of the most popular graves in the cemetery are the graves of Jim Morrison and Oscar Wilde. Thousands of people come here every year to see them. On entry to the 110 acre cemetery you can purchase a map that indicates the whereabouts of hundreds of famous people. Some of them are quite difficult to find and it took me a while to find the graves of Marcel Proust and Honore de Balzac. I was here for about three hours altogether and it was a great experience so if you come to Paris be sure to look this place up.

The Catacombs of Paris Samuel J Russell 2016-04-07 | This video was taken in the Catacombs of Paris. The catacombs are underground ossuaries which hold the remains of about six million people in a small part of the ancient Mines of Paris tunnel network. Located south of the former city gate "Barrière d’Enfer" beneath Rue de la Tombe-Issoire, the ossuary was founded when city officials were faced with two simultaneous problems: a series of cave-ins starting in 1774 and overflowing cemeteries, particularly Saint Innocents. Nightly processions of bones from 1786 to 1788 transferred remains from cemeteries to the reinforced tunnels, and more remains were added in later years. The underground cemetery became a tourist attraction on a small scale from the early 19th century, and has been open to the public on a regular basis since 1874 with surface access from a building at Place Denfert-Rochereau.
Ghost Tower, Bangkok Samuel J Russell 2015-05-25 | The Sathorn Unique building in Bangkok is a truly fascinating place. At the start of this video I explain how it came to be but I also incorrectly state that the building is in Silom when it is actually located in the Sathon district of Bangkok. At two minutes and twenty-one seconds I also incorrectly state that I am looking up Silom Road when it's actually the Sathon Tai Road. If you watch the video to the end you will see me walk across a narrow piece of concrete which is right on the edge of the building at the very top. The building has now become a popular tourist attraction in Bangkok for urban explorers and more and more people are getting to the top even though it is still illegal to enter the building. Not surprisingly, the Thai authorities don't seem to care much about this.
Baiyoke Sky Tower, Bangkok Samuel J Russell 2015-05-25 | Baiyoke Tower II is an 85-storey, 304 m (997 ft) skyscraper hotel at 222 Ratchaprarop Road in the Ratchathewi district of Bangkok, Thailand. It is the tallest building in the country, and comprises the Baiyoke Sky Hotel, the tallest hotel in Southeast Asia and the seventh-tallest all-hotel structure in the world.With the antenna included, the building's height is 328.4 m (1,077 ft), and features a public observatory on the 77th floor where this video was filmed. There's also a bar called "Roof Top Bar & Music Lounge" on the 83rd floor, a 360-degree revolving roof deck on the 84th floor and the hotel offers 673 guest rooms. Construction on the building ended in 1997, with the antenna being added two years later. The Baiyoke Sky Hotel website notes the height without the antenna as 309 m (1,014 ft), but the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH), Emporis and SkyscraperPage note it as 304 m (997 ft).MahaNakhon by Pace Development which is currently under construction will be 314 m (1,030 ft) tall measured as height without antenna, replacing Baiyoke II as Thailand's tallest building when completed in 2015.

I found out about this through an Internet blog so decided to have a look for myself. This sort of thing would only happen in the crazy place that is Thailand! What makes this even more inexplicable is that it is several miles from the nearest airport. I have no idea why it is there but I found this fascinating, the number of parts in an aircraft of this size is truly amazing, apparently there are six million parts in a 747 aircraft.
