Already an experienced chemist, with a doctorate and years of experience in the field, Keith Minor is now working on his PhD in geology/paleontology with Professor Ron Steel in the Dynamic Stratigraphy Working Group at the University of Texas at Austin.
His research interests are on both lower and upper Cretaceous ammonite biostratigraphy and paleobiogeography, and on Cretaceous depositional systems, facies analysis, and sequence stratigraphy of North America. This includes the US and Mexican Gulf coastal plain, Atlantic coastal plain, Western Interior Seaway, and Pacific margin.
But what this background doesn't tell you, is that he is also an avid storm chaser and weather photographer. We'll be featuring his work on some of the AMS Weather Band social media channels, and wanted the Weather Band to get to know him a little better. In this interview, we got to talk with Keith about storm chasing, training, how to stay safe, and how to get the best shots in the field.
