Inindo - Way of The Ninja was released initially in 1991 for other systems but the Super Nintendo/Famicom version was released in 1993, it was Developed and Published by Koei.

STORY: 15/20
Nobunaga is the Emperor and is trying to invade territories, leaving destruction in his wake. He has wiped out nearly every Ninja clan there is other than you. You decide to go on a training mission to eventually be able to assassinate Nobunaga and free the country from his tyranny.

GRAPHICS: 12/20
Well, this is a real hit and miss, the cutscene graphics are great but then the rest of the game's graphics not so much. The world exploration looks okay but the menu and battle screen design is horrendous. Monsters and character designs are.. well, not great at all. Magic and skill attacks all are simple in design and look and not really nothing to rave over.

SOUND: 10/20
The OST for the game is okay but it's certainly not on the same level as other top RPG titles for the system, though it does have a general theme for them throughout. The game has very few sound effect and some get so old and annoying very quick you'll probably end up turning the game's sound off eventually, especially the death of monsters sound.

GAMEPLAY: 15/20
This game is pretty ambitious considering how the rest of the game is, there's a few classes, you can recruit people into your party but first you must talk to them a good few times to get them to trust you by raising their trust rank. A spy system for you to go and spy on warring states and such, a huge world to explore and get lost in as it's pretty much an open world. A day/night system where when you rest you might end up being attacked or people might randomly offer to join your 3-man party. Stores for equipment, Tea shops, Medicine stores, Equipment stores, the list goes on. The towns ain't that great to look at but they are usually pretty huge to explore, especially the dungeons. One of the greatest downfalls of this game is the consistently random battles that are so frequent you'll probably look for cheat codes to half the encounter rate or to turn them off when exploring. The game can be often brutal in battles, some can be real easy and then suddenly they get real hard, it seems the unbalanced gameplay becomes more evident the later game you get.

TRANSLATION: 20/20
As the game was officially released in English then you can guarantee the translation is great. I think people will struggle a bit with the whole theme if they have not played any warring state games such as Nobunaga's Ambition and such.. even though these are really not in the same genre as this game.

OVER ALL: 72/100
It's not a bad game but it's extremely grind heavy and the systems in the game for classes is so in depth it'll have you scratching your head eventually, especially on how you can become a good spy. Do I recommend it now..? Hmm..? Difficult to answer that one, if your looking for a challenge then I suppose I would but would warn against the lack of good graphics.
