Just a quick flight, following up on the last video with iNav 5. I've adjusted the control linkages to add more throw in the surfaces, and moved the servo mid points back to 1500uS. (adjusted the clevises to keep the elevons trimmed) I loaded the default values for rates and FF, before the autotune. I flew it like this and used loiter mode to see if the altitude held any better. The plane flew great, but altitude was still all over the place while loitering, very much like the last flight. This lets me rule out a couple of things. (control throws and issues resulting from autotune) Still thinking about where to go from here, any ideas post them in the comments below! Marc advised that it could be a resonance in the airframe affecting the flight controller at a certain throttle setting, and soft mounting the FC could help. It's hard to say without blackbox logging though to be sure. One idea I had was sticking iNav 3.0.1 back on with my old dump and repeat these tests, not physically changing anything on the plane. That could possibly rule out a vibrations issue, and narrow it to a change in f/w between the two versions. More than one person reports seeing similar problems when going to iNav 4 form 3. I never flew 4 so can't say. I don't recall any problem flying 3 though. At any rate, I'm having fun systematically narrowing down the root cause! lol Stay tuned! (no pun intended :p)
