Today I am visiting a cover I created for live-stream/performing, but never quite got to finishing up and it's from #Ikenfell! A game I adore, mixing take-turn RPG elements similar to Paper Mario and Fire Emblem, with the charm and modern-telling of a magical school where friends and family deal with an ongoing evil happening. While I breezed through the game a bit too fast, I still think the soundtrack is one of the tops I heard all year. Ikenfell, composed masterfully and with so much love by Aivi & Surasshu, constantly plays off their digital fusion signature sound while keeping catchy melodies at heart and I wanted to do my best to keep that vibe up strong!
Visually of course, I wanted to keep up the pastel palette of the game in the video! Like with Rhythm of the Wild and Memory Shards (two songs I've done from the game so far), it was important to share what the game feels like since it's still an indie title many peers haven't seen quite yet! I went for purples, pinks, and soft yellows in my room which I've also reorganized to suit filming and living better! I also had the help of @AllisonMartinTrombone to shoot this, using the Zhiyun Weebill Gimbal I picked up recently - it's made these videos miles easier to shoot while keeping an action-packed handheld feel I really think benefits my style. Since we've worked on at least one cover together now and she's shot a few things for me, I can't express how thankful I am for her help on these and future videos too!
Just across that and some mixing breakthroughs I'm ultra proud of how this one looks and sounds! Don't miss out on Ikenfell, I highly recommend it and its OST to enthusiasts and PLEASE let me know if you want more covers... because they really are magical to work on.
