I'll be honest—I never cared much about Homer's Odyssey.
For years, I saw it as nothing more than another Greek myth. I had no idea how profoundly this epic had shaped literature and, perhaps, even influenced the Bible itself.
That changed when I began reading the work of scholars like Bruce Louden and Dennis R. MacDonald.
Now, with Christopher Nolan bringing The Odyssey to the big screen, I'm more excited than ever to experience this story in a completely new way—not just as a film, but as an opportunity to revisit one of history's greatest epics and explore a fascinating question:
To what extent did the biblical authors engage with Homer's works?
