It’s finally happening — I’m designing my first micro crawler motor.

Long-time viewers know I haven’t always been a big fan of micros. Not because they aren’t cool, but because they often don’t meet my expectations for control, torque, and overall feel. Lately though, I’ve been coming around… and that made me realize something:

If I’m going to take micro crawlers seriously, I need a motor that actually meets my standards.

In this video, I walk through my first 050 micro motor prototype, why I built it the way I did, and what I want to improve. This prototype features universal mounting options so it can work across multiple micro platforms. It’s purple because it’s a prototype — the final production version will most likely be black.

This is still early development, but if everything goes well, I’m hoping to have a finalized version ready in the next few months.

I’m sharing this process because I want feedback from the micro community — what you like, what you don’t, and what you wish existed.

Thanks to everyone who’s been watching, supporting, and pushing me to finally cross over to the micro side.
