Adventures With Purpose 2024-09-10 | We are in Lake Isabella, California right now where Christina Murphy, A nurse, and mother of two, went missing 50 days ago on July 22. Today we located her Toyota 4-Runner. Jared located and dove on her vehicle this morning in the Kern River. He was able to use the river eddys to get to the back of her vehicle to verify all of the windows are blown out but unable to get to the front seat to verify if she is inside. His entire dive was under 10 minutes. The rigging would only take a few minutes. As you all know, we treat this a crime scene the moment we identify it’s the vehicle we’re looking for. Law enforcement and community officers were on scene for four hours before vacating and not telling any friends, family, or AWP why they were all leaving. There is rumor that the dive team they brought in is claiming it is unsafe without even taking time to review the footage that Jared had available for them. Originally this morning, when Jared met with law-enforcement, they did not want him rigging the vehicle for liability reasons, but never spoke with him further from one dive team to another to assess the situation. On August 6, 2024, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) Search and Rescue (SAR) discovered Graham’s vehicle and remains in steep, forested terrain near Highway 140 outside of Eagle Point, Oregon. The discovery was made during an unrelated search operation, and Graham was identified through scientific methods shortly thereafter.While this news brings sorrow, it also brings a sense of closure to those who have been tirelessly searching for answers. THE MISSION: 6 Chicago Missing Persons Cold Cases (pt3) Adventures With Purpose 2024-07-13 | Adventures With Purpose (AWP), the renowned underwater sonar search and recovery dive team, has returned to Chicago for the third day of their intensive search operations. The team is dedicated to solving cold cases involving missing persons, bringing closure to families and aiding law enforcement.MISSION OBJECTIVE:AWP's Chicago mission aims to locate the following missing persons:- Alo Giminez, last seen driving a 2007 Toyota Highlander.- Homer Sullivan, associated with a 2003 Mercury Grand Maris.- Armando Gomez, reported missing with his 2009 Dodge Caravan.- James Dove, who was driving a 2019 Chrysler 300.- Martin Smith, last known to be in a black Dodge Journey.- Christine Fitch, whose last known vehicle was a 2005 white Jeep Commander.Day 3 Highlights:During the search, AWP discovered two submerged cars. These vehicles appeared to be over 30 years old, identified by their rotted roofs and deteriorated state. While these finds are notable, our primary focus remains on locating newer vehicles (less than 10-15 years old) that might be related to recent cold cases.We faced several challenges throughout the day, including dealing with a pontoon boat with a leak. Despite these obstacles, we continued our thorough search, focusing on high-probability areas for more recent dumps. Bridges and secluded spots along the river were of particular interest, as they are common locations for dumping vehicles.Interactions with Authorities:We contacted the Chicago PD and discussed our findings with a detective from the violent crimes division. The detective agreed to help run the plates of the vehicles we found to determine if they were connected to any missing persons or criminal activities. This sonar equipment helps us see beneath the surface, revealing cars and other objects that could be linked to her disappearance.While investigating, we’re also looking for Terissa Wallace and Shekina Bernett, two friends missing since 2014. Their case is tricky because it might involve foul play, which we usually don’t handle. However, we can’t ignore any clues while we’re here. We’re particularly interested in a white 2009 Toyota Tercel associated with them, especially since part of a leg bone, possibly Shekina’s, was found near a dam.We also focused on the case of a private investigator’s mother who went missing in 1987. The details are vague, but she might be connected to a blue car. Adventures With Purpose 2024-05-25 | Adventures With Purpose Solves 30-Year-Old Cold Case from 1994 During Search for Another Missing Person from 2018.The search took place outside of Elk Grove, CA - April 13, 2024, when Adventures With Purpose (AWP), the renowned volunteer dive team known for solving cold cases, successfully recovered the vehicle and remains of Arnell Narvaiz, a man missing since July 1, 1994. The discovery occurred during a search operation for another missing person, Duke Haringer, near the Delta Island Ranch in Sacramento County.Arnell Narvaiz, who vanished while driving his beige 1988 Toyota to his workplace at a Delta Island Ranch, had been missing for nearly three decades. His vehicle was located submerged 30 feet deep in the Delta, buried up to the windows in silt. The AWP team, using advanced sonar technology, identified and verified the vehicle by retrieving its license plate.Discovery and RecoveryThe AWP team, led by diver and sonar expert, Jared Leisek, initially identified the submerged vehicle. After confirming the vehicle's identity, they coordinated with local authorities, including the Stockton Police Department and the coroner's office, to plan the extraction.The vehicle's recovery required careful handling due to its depth and position. A rotator truck equipped with a crane was brought in to assist with the extraction. The team meticulously pulled the vehicle out to avoid losing any evidence or remains. He had been staying at a friend's house for a few days and then he came home, showered, and had a meal with his parents. He said he was going out but would be back that night. He has never been heard from again.He left his clothes and money behind, and he hasn't accessed his bank account or used his credit cards since his disappearance. His family stated there was no sign he was planning to leave and "everything just went silent."Prior to his disappearance, Hamby had had problems with substance abuse, depression and anxiety, and had multiple jail stays. He lost his driver's license due to drunk driving charges.However, he had started to turn his life around. He had taken a job with Rob Staley, a former school principal and friend of his family, and got his license back. He cherished his car, a black 2006 BMW 530I with the Indiana license plate number XJU691. A photo of him with the car is posted with this case summary. It has not been located.He converted to Roman Catholicism at age 22 and owned many religious, theological and ancient philosophical texts in his large collection of books. His loved ones stated his religion, and being a good Christian, was very important to him. He also loved sports.Staley was one of the last people to speak to him before he went missing. Hamby's mother had sensed her son was struggling and called Staley about it, so Staley asked Hamby to come to his house and talk. Hamby was supposed to return to work right before he vanished, but during their meeting Staley noticed he was acting strangely and his body language was "off". Hamby admitted he hadn't been taking his medication.Both Staley and Hamby's parents believe he did not leave on his own and was probably the victim of a homicide. They discovered that Charles had harmed Rachel and that David helped him hide the evidence. Shockingly, they found out that Charles and David had made a secret plan to get rid of their wives.Investigators learned that Rachel was wrapped in a tarp, weighed down with chains attached to buckets, and thrown off a bridge into a river. This revelation was both sad and frightening. A local fisherman thought he had found Rachel when he caught something heavy in the river, but he lost it before he could see what it was.
