I Made My DREAM Modern Game Room With Chill Vibes SheaNoelleDesign 2022-04-01 | For the past year, I’ve been slowly planning on redecorating this media room or game room if you will into a space that’s a fun space to play games and movies, as well as being a room that still looks very stylish and has its own personality. It required a lot of saving, sacrificing, and plenty of redesigns to get to this point and now that it’s here, I’m finally happy to get started. Granted, it’s more than enough space for me and Jimmy to hold a few guests in, but because we wanted nice seating in there and storage, couches or sectionals could only be limited to this back wall, which forced us to have the TV on the opposite wall from it. So smaller pieces of furniture like bookshelves and end tables would have to work around these things. Another was budgeting, which I mentioned sort of earlier. And lastly was just what style we wanted to go for. We figured out that we wanted natural elements in this room, with a modern twist. Those natural elements being a natural tone wood that matches the wood flooring in my home, and marble which I like to incorporate everywhere in my house. A mature yet youthful look that didn’t try too hard to be ‘edgy’ or ‘cool’. So let’s start with what we did first, which is to replace the doors on the Ikea besta that I’ve had forever. At first glance you wouldn’t even think this was the same TV stand as the last one. The best thing about the Besta is that the doors can be changed according to your style, so if you’re like me and your original doors were pink and you want something more neutral, you can definitely do that without much effort at all. The original door design I wanted was sold out, but the Bjorviken was a good substitute, with its natural wood tones and modern design. So if you’re going to Ikea for some furniture or anything else, keep that in mind. The next task we did was to paint the singular wall navy blue but this particular navy is a bit different. This shade is named Mysterious and I found it while looking at the Benjamin Moore colors of the year. Once it was done, it really did make the room already feel so much better, giving a moodier tone to an otherwise bland room. After that, we focused on creating a mini battle station for our gameroom with our new and amazingly high tech PC. The standing desk is the highlight of this PC area, with this amazing butcher block top and a pair of cheap standing desk legs of Amazon. The butcher block was something we got from Lowes and I ended up sawing it to the correct length to getting it to fit in this cozy corner. I chose this particular matte seal and with Jimmy’s help we actually did this part by ourselves. Then there was also this amazing bookshelf we got from Article, and the Ikea Skadis pegboards that act as our storage in this room. The Skadis is an amazing storage piece that can house anything you want. Crafting materials, Office supplies, and in this case it holds our cables and electronic accessories like controllers, mice and keyboards. As for the bookshelf, it’s super nice. It’s also pretty simple to put together, it just needs to be screwed into the wall once you screw the shelves in, which is the most challenging part of this, but once it’s up it just looks so nice and it holds all of my items so nicely. It holds our gaming consoles turning them more into decorative pieces rather than having them cluttered on the tv stand.I could go over every little detail in this room, but I believe I gave a good overview of everything in this room and the process of creating it. This is a space to clear our heads and to just chat with friends and I’m glad that I don’t have to look at it in annoyance anymore. Instead I look forward to going in there after dinner and living my best life, snuggling in the softest blanket I can find and just taking a break from all the stress and trials life can throw at us.

They’re there to fulfill a purpose which is to make sure that your stuff and clothes are put in a safe place. As well as placing valuables that you don’t want anyone to get a hold of, After about a year in this house it got to a point where the closet was just not functioning the way I wanted it so I decided it was time to really focus on making this closet more efficient and a lot cleaner. I needed a closet solution for all of this. And it came from the most interesting thing I could think of and that was this dresser. This is the Hauga, and the one I eventually bought has these two cabinet doors on the side as well as drawers in the middle of it. When I looked at this Hauga, I really felt like it fulfilled most of what I wanted without breaking the bank, and it looked nice enough to place in my closet. I got these organizational cubes from Ikea. These are pretty cheap and they’re also easy to store away, if you have extras. All you have to do is fold the cube up and place it in a safe place so you can probably use it later. But for those I did use, I organized my undergarments, socks and other clothing accessories, and it really did start to look a whole lot better in my closet with just that simple change. Now everything is in a neat and tidy location that I can easily access without just being thrown carelessly into a bin that has little to no organization.For the cabinets, on the left I placed all my purses and travel bags that I used to have on the closet shelves above the clothing racks. This way they’re in a protected area and I have less clutter clouding the shelving space I already have. And whenever I need a specific purse or bag, it’s easy to grab and use. On the opposite cabinet I house all of my important documents. I would show you this in detail but I like my privacy and don’t like the idea of accidentally doxxing myself, so yeah. Some other things that I included in my closet that have aided me in making a very comfortable space is the inclusion of a hamper system. Before this I had used like a very standard laundry basket that you can get basically anywhere and this thing is actually the worst. Reason being is it doesn’t sort out the clothes that land in it and it just looks terrible. So I decided to fix that by adding this, the Joseph and Joseph hamper, which I got on Amazon. It’s super easy to use, with these bags that you can just pullout and take with you to the laundry room. I will say the assembly is not easy however, especially the fabric portions of the hamper, since it’s not a stretchy fabric you have to strong arm the heck out of it until it finally is in these tiny slits. But after it’s assembled it’s not an issue you should have to revisit, because it’s pretty sturdy. I also added some baskets from Target in the closet that are currently empty but add some interesting storage if I ever buy new things, as well as these wooden hangers I also got from target. I got these mainly as something that’s more aesthetically pleasing rather than the plastic hangers I had from my old place. Personally I’m not a huge fan of the velvet hangers that you see in most stores because it’s nearly impossible to hang anything on it smoothly. The wooden ones are easier to use and have these nice ridges so silkier tops and tanks don’t come off as easily. I bought both natural wood and matte black wooden hangers to separate my clothes from my husband’s, but this is purely out of personal design choice, you can definitely just get the ones that please you the most. And after a long cleaning out period and reorganization, my closet finally felt completely organized, all thanks to adding a dresser system, some new storage items, and a handy dandy hamper. It’s not a designer closet, but it’s clean and that’s more than I’d ever want for this room.
Thing I WISHED I SPENT Less Money on! 5 Things to Save On in your Home SheaNoelleDesign 2022-09-02 | A while back, I made a video highlighting several home purchases that you should splurge on. But, as I looked at that video I was also thinking about things that you could potentially cheap out on in your home. Because not everyone has that much money to splurge on a thousand dollar decor piece that isn’t necessary. So going based on my own experience as an amateur at decorating her own home here are some things that you should definitely cheap out on. I think the most crazy thing about becoming an adult and decorating your home is finding out how stupid expensive rugs are. For something that you step on. The rugs that I eventually got for like my dining room and living room, both came from Home Goods, which is actually a pretty decent place to find area rugs, as most are like 400 dollars average, and the larger ones are usually 600 to 700 dollars US.The second thing you should definitely save your money on are lamps. Lamps have the same problem like rugs, being that you think it's one price, and it definitely isn’t once you get there. So instead of doing that, you could buy a lamp somewhere else. I personally like to use Target to get my lamps for my house. I know it's very original, but I actually love the lamps they have there. They have every type of style and the lamps I’ve gotten have been pretty good for the past year. And I’ve never paid over 100 dollars for any of the ones I’ve gotten, so make sure that you aren’t overpaying for lamps. The next thing you shouldn’t over pay for are Blinds. If you’ve moved into a house and you’re looking to put in new blinds, make sure to shop around before selecting a type that you like. Because different companies and small businesses that install blinds may have different cost for different types of blinds. There’s also these Ikea blinds named the Fyrtur, that can be automated as well for only 150 dollars per blind. Wall decor is another thing you should definitely try to cheap out on. The reasoning behind this is because, you should honestly just display a style that you yourself like rather than just expensive pieces no one cares about. You can actually find really cute stuff for cheap on websites like Etsy, Redbubble, Wayfair, and other independent retailers or small businesses that sell art, mirrors, or anything you want to hang on your walls. You don’t need to buy a 400 dollar art piece just because it’s from a nice store. Rather focus on things you do like. For example, these California vintage travel posters were only like 30 to 40 dollars each and I just bought some cheap frames on Etsy to have a nice visual piece in the gameroom. And I got these really cute Disney art pieces from Wonderground Gallery at Disney Springs for the same price as the Redbubble posters. And the final thing you can cheap out on are Storage Containers and baskets. Everyone needs to have some organization in their homes and a very popular way of doing this is through using storage baskets and cubbies. But I have to admit sometimes I don’t want to spend 20 dollars per basket at the Container store. Trust me that you don’t need the most expensive containers in the world. Even if they’re the nicest wooden boxes and they’re from the coolest store ever, believe me it’s not worth it. To prove that I have these amazing golden baskets that I got from Dollar Tree. And at the time they were a dollar, but now they’re a $1.25 which is still good and you can buy these in bulk and use them to hold small items in your closet, pantry, or wherever really. If you don’t like that, I do know that places like Target have pretty affordable bins, especially from the new Brightroom collection, which there’s just a plethora of affordable storage containers, and even Amazon, which literally has every bin under the sun. If you want to get into the craze of organization, don’t break your bank, it literally just needs to hold your items and look cute.
I Turned My Messy Game Room into A Modern Chill Room SheaNoelleDesign 2022-04-01 | Ever since I moved into my new house, I’ve been trying to figure out how to decorate this flex space into an amazing new gameroom. A dead room where furniture went to die and junk piling in the corners and after almost a year of living here, I’ve finally gotten to the point where I can finish this space off. Starting with a new coat of paint, I created an accent wall to give a moodier look to the room with a dark navy. Then I went onto my usual websites to find some natural wood furniture and some cute accents that give the room character. Posters of California, tabletop games, and some fake foliage to give some ‘life’ to the room. And after a few weeks, now the space looks complete and organized, and I am happy with everything. And the piece breaks apart after a month or two. But what if you did want to splurge? I haven't been a homeowner for even a year yet, but if I were to redo some of my purchases, there'd be a bunch of things I wish I spent more money on and others, less money on. Now I know this isn’t an exciting statement piece, but having a great mattress is something you should really consider spending your money on. You’re going to be spending a lot of time sleeping or relaxing on your bed so it’s necessary that your mattress is comfortable for you. You need to feel comfortable laying and sleeping on your mattress at night not only because you don’t want to be lacking beauty sleep, but rather it’s healthier for you in the long run. Having good sleep is better for your heart and better for your mind. Another thing you may want to consider, is to have a great desk set up for a study or an area of the house that is both comfortable and useful to you. You need to really consider things like standing desks and ergonomic chairs that are high quality. Reason being is very similar to the mattress problem, spending 6-8 hours a day on a chair that isn’t designed for you to sit in for that long, can cause problems. So it’s wise to make investments on chairs that can withstand that.Moving on, definitely have a good quality dining table. Even if you live in a small apartment and don’t entertain that much, having a good quality table is very important. A dining table that’s well made can be a good work space for you as well. And if you do entertain in a home or apartment, having a nice sturdy table can be a conversation piece. Also another piece you should splurge your money on is definitely a nice sofa. I’ve already talked about my qualms with my sofa before this in another video so if you want to see that I’ll put a link to it in the description down below. Having a sofa that not only looks good but is also functional, and high quality is definitely something you need to do, because even if you’re an introvert and don’t like having too many guests over, sofas will be something you will use for a long time. My advice is to actually go to many furniture stores and try out plenty of them. Lean your head back, sink into it, put your feet up and really get a feel for them. Style wise, I always say get them in a neutral color scheme and then highlight different colors with decorative pillows, but hey if you want to go loud and get a pink sofa, by all means do so. Just make sure that your sofa, like your dining table, feels sturdy enough to last for a long time. By that I mean, can it outlast you plopping onto it after a long day at work or school, surviving pets peeing on it, or you hosting several guests on it without the pillows and cushions sinking in and guests having to crouch over like gollum with no back support. Of course all of these things are dependent on how much money you’re willing to spend and what's most important to you. The last thing I want for you, as a viewer, is to believe that you honestly need to replace everything or buy anything new right now. Think carefully before you splurge on several items at once or else you may end up with things that may not be as perfect as you want.
COMPLETE Living Room MAKEOVER: Mid Century Vibes SheaNoelleDesign 2022-01-28 | Living rooms are an important part of every home, large or small. When it came to my own living room I really wanted to create a mid century modern vibe with cooler tone colors like blue, grey, and white. And this theme runs constant in the main areas of the house. I also have this gorgeous wood floor that stretches into my Kitchen. The cabinets in the Kitchen are shaker style and are this nice bright white. I eventually changed to these beautiful brushed brass pulls and cabinet knobs to give the kitchen a little more warmth. On the sliding doors I have these amazing automated blinds. However, when it came to the furniture I wanted to buy, I didn’t really have the selection that I wanted. I’ve never been too into furniture from major furniture dealers like Ashley or Rooms to Go. Mainly because the style I want is not represented well there, which is mid-century modern. Now, of all the major retailers, Ashley Furniture had a mid-century modern collection but I wasn’t too impressed with it. It just doesn’t look quite like I wanted it. The closest to the vibe I was going for was two retailers: west elm and Crate & Barrel. Crate & Barrel does a little bit of everything style wise, but they also have an amazingly lux spin off brand CB2. West elm on the other hand I had encountered in Houston and I was almost immediately in love. And because of that, Jimmy and I bought several pieces of furniture from west elm in store that we thought fit best for our home.The two blue velvet chairs are from west elm, they’re both Lotties, which can come in both fabric and leather customizations. We picked these two because of the color selection and that the legs had this brass feature on them which fit with my original theme. And right next to them is a familiar sight, the Project 62 marble and brass table that I’ve used in a previous project before this, it’s surprisingly affordable and feels very premium. The Andes sectional sofa is another piece from west elm. In the kitchen, and in the dining room, I have these amazing chairs from Target known as the Nils Brass Base Kitchen seating. They’re a pretty good quality for not too much. I will say that if you have lighter wood flooring like me, then you might want to have a rug for them to be on or be extra careful when you move them since they have a tendency to leave marks on the floor. And lastly a piece that deserves a spotlight is this SAMSUNG Frame TV. I’m not a fan of giant tvs in living spaces like this and the Frame helps get rid of that eyesore by either being a painting on the wall or a TV, with a press of a button. It does require a media box to be hidden like I’ve done with this media cabinet and mounting it can be a bit of a pain, because of the fact that it needs either a professional to mount it or someone more experienced, so take those into consideration. The sofa sectional came with its own set of problems and there are three reasons why. One is because of the sofa cushions, they have progressively gotten flimsier. By that I mean they don’t like to stay upright and after you sit on the couch the pillow slump over and make the couch look like a mess. The second is that the ottoman feels very not supported. And lastly and the most annoying is that the couch keeps separating. I’m not joking, there’s a gap that stays perpetually between the corner piece and the rest of the sofa.Overall I love what I’ve done with my living spaces, everything feels like a cohesive feel and has stuck to the flow that I wanted, however I still have a lot more work to do to the space. COMPLETE Contemporary Game Room Makeover SheaNoelleDesign 2021-12-31 | This is the final product of a room that I’ve been planning for almost 3 months. It’s more of a contemporary vibe and it’s definitely an improvement on his former room’s look. A state, and not a good one. It had some wear and tear, dented walls, dust everywhere, some nail damage, and some other things that come from an older home. Which meant we needed to get some spackling done to repair the drywall, cracking and chips. Once that was finished we needed to figure out what paint color to choose. We chose the BEHR Paint color Cathedral Gray and for the trim work Polar Bear.Then it was time for us to get ready to go furniture shopping. Some pieces were already taken care of like his display cases, TV Stand, and bookshelves, but he needed a desk, sofa and a coffee table. So to stick to our budget we needed pieces that were friendly to our wallets. Places like IKEA, Target, and Wayfair were some of the places we looked at. My friend was interested in the standing desks that my husband has so Jimmy got him a standing desk legs with without a top. We were originally going for a butcher block countertop but those can be expensive, so like I said before, we got ours from IKEA. This is the Vrena, a countertop that you can get for $109 and in this case a desk. It's actually wood veneer but how it looks and it’s texture, can fool you into thinking it’s wood. On his desk are Monitor arms and a dual monitor setup. We ended up using some of his budget for the arms and one of the monitors to give him a more functional desk setup for work and gamingOn the window is a blind. Not just any window blind, this is the Fyrtur by IKEA which is actually a wireless automated blind that you can buy for the low cost of 154 dollars. The Fyrtur is great for someone who just wants one blind set or a couple of them. I will highlight its key feature: automation. With a click of a button it can go up or down. With the Tradfri hub and a smart assistant, you can connect the Fyrtur and ask your assistant to open or close the blinds.Around the room we’ve placed LED lights and strips to make the room pop at night. We used budget lights in order to stay within budget. The lights on the TV are from Govee and they work well and are an option for those who are looking for a cheaper alternative to Phillips lights. And also have strips which you can see here on his desk, illuminating the back. They can be controlled using their app and you can go from a warm lighting setup to a colorful one. There were issues that we had when creating this space like sticking to a budget. Buying furniture is expensive so we cut out some of our ideas because, he had functional furniture to begin with that wasn’t a problem. Another was trying to lay out the room. Since the room is small, it’s difficult for me to visualize where I wanted things and where to place certain items. Eventually I kinda just adopted the idea of “wherever the desk goes, I’ll work around it” and it worked for me. Lastly, was the painting. It was exhausting for all of us but nothing would’ve looked good if we didn’t paint and it was worth it in the end.With a few finishing touches like art pieces and modeling the figures, we’ve now finished this space. He’s worked hard in college, he’s worked hard as an employee and he’s also been an incredible worker on Youtube, always trying to make sure that his content is enjoyed by everyone. I believe that he more than deserves this. When we were looking for places to live, I wanted to be able to give him that space, a place for him to film and to explore his own creative interests. It all depends on the person which is why we will be discussing it together in order to be on the right page. This is the result of planning and experimenting with colors and furniture pieces that resulted in Jimmy’s new studio space. It’s been an interesting journey and I’ve had fun planning this with Jimmy every step of the way. We’ve had to change our ideas a few times, but at the end of this project, we created this wonderful space to work in, relax in, and film in. I’ve never decorated a guy’s space before and I’d like to think I did pretty well in creating this for Jimmy so without further ado, lets take a look around at some of the pieces and bumps in the road that we had along the wayOne of which was actually the standing desk that we planned to make. Unfortunately, the Karlby countertop has been completely sold out in the Houston Ikea that we go to. So we had to find another way to get the counter top that Jimmy wanted. Jimmy came to the decision that he’d want to get a butcher block from like Home Depot or something, but I remembered that my parents had recently disassembled a kitchen island that belonged to my grandmother that had a butcher block counter top. We sanded it down, stained it and even gave it a nice protective coat. We placed the wooden top on the pair of standing legs which wasn’t too difficult but it was pretty heavy, and it looks insanely nice. The next part of our room make over journey was painting the walls in Jimmy’s room I was a bit nervous about the black wall Jimmy wanted for his room. I didn’t think it’d be nice to look at and I thought it would make the room smaller. But Jimmy was very clear he really really wanted it, so I let him have it this one time. We ended up choosing the paint color Black Ink by Benjamin Moore paint, as his color for the one black wall he wanted. As for the other walls those were in the paint color Chantily Lace which was also by Benjamin Moore. As far as storage goes, we had tons of fun with that. First we have this beautiful bookcase from Target. It’s relatively inexpensive and comes in three different shelf colors. There is a ladder version that screws into the wall if you want that, and it’s cheaper too. In his closet we’ve added a few storage pieces like the Ikea Skadis peg boards. These are cheap and very popular since they come in a variety of colors, sizes, and accessories to make your pegboard your own. On his SKADIS he’s been using storage containers and straps to hold his smaller equipment, making use of the narrow closet to the best of his abilities. And finally we have this exceptionally large Husky Tool chest. The tool chest is more functional in this space. It works as a product workbench and storage for equipment that’s fragile since the drawers have built in mats to help minimize damage. It looks actually well in the room despite it being a piece most people place in their garages. And it’s been incredibly useful with its built in power adapter, allowing him to charge his equipment in a secure space. In his corner spot of his room he has a lounge chair that we got from west elm. This one is the Lucas Swivel Chair and it’s probably one of the more expensive pieces in this room. Retailing for about 1,399 USD, it’s not something I would pressure anyone into buying. If you’re really into the style of this chair and you don’t mind getting it in fabric rather than leather the EKENÄSET, from Ikea has similar mid century vibes for only $200. Besides that we decorated the space out with ambient lighting, sheer linen curtains, and a throw blanket, just in case. I was so happy to really give Jimmy a place to work in. He really is super generous and patient with me and he works so hard that I really wanted our newest place to feel like a home.
My DREAM WFH Office and Guest Room: Pink Vibes All Around! SheaNoelleDesign 2021-09-17 | Hey everyone, welcome back to Shea Noelle Designs, I’m Shea and this is actually a part two of a room makeover by yours truly. This is actually the mostly finished project of the Pink Room, as I call it. This is a space that I’ve created that is both a study and a guest room. I know this might seem like a “basic” color scheme right now or maybe a bit too girly for a guest room, but I believe that this is just an enjoyable color scheme for an office bringing an energetic yet calm pink as well as some character to an overlooked room such as a guest room.First we have this lovely bookcase by CosmoLiving. This is the Camila 5 Shelf Bookcase, it’s relatively medium size when it comes to bookshelves and I kinda tower over it, but hey I’m 5’8’ it kinda happens. On the bookshelf I’ve added a bit of my own personality and color. To give the room life I added this fake plant I got at Target for about 8 dollars. I actually picked it because from afar it looked so lifelike, and I need that since I have a pension of accidentally killing plants, getting better at keeping them alive but nevertheless I have an inadvertent kill count. Next to that I have the first of three polaroid cameras. This is a vintage Hello Kitty polaroid and carrying bag exclusively from Japan. On the shelf below that I have a collection of hard-covered vintage pink and rose books. If you’re like me and you aren’t a big reader but love a monochromatic look like this, you’re in luck cause there’s a lot of retailers on Etsy that sell books like these in sets of any color you want, but be aware of those shipping costs because sometimes they can be ridiculous. On the right of my books, I have another Polaroid Camera, this time it’s a Barbie Polaroid Camera. This is actually created by Retrospekt, and I believe that they make these from recycled Polaroid cameras. They also have a lot of other Polaroid Cameras and other vintage and retro tech, so if that’s your thing, go check them out. And on the bottom three shelves I have one more Polaroid Camera, this time a Disney theme with a Mickey Mouse. I also have a few pink storage items from Project 62 from Target as well as a writing Journal and a Dolly Parton Book, On my desk I have plenty of those Project 62 pieces, including these really cool scissors and stapler. I have one of the newer Macs in the pink/red colorway as well, which if I had only one major complaint about it is that I wish it weren’t red on the back. Underneath my mac is a monitor riser. This one is from Pottery Barn teen and its a bit pricey for what it is, but I liked the storage and usb ports offered on it so that’s cool. There's the Mid-Century Modern Chick flick posters. I had a hard time actually getting a frame for these lovely posters because they’re actually a not so common shape, they’re 12x18 and They do have a website called Prints and Giggles. And they don’t just do Chick Flicks, they also have classics like Alien, It’s a Wonderful Life, and even Cars. And if movies aren’t your thing they also have TV Shows, like Mad Men and New Girl, two shows I enjoy and highly recommend. These can come in smaller prints or big posters like you see on my wall. Then near the bed I have two beautiful tables of different styles. The one on the left is from Target in the pillowfort collection. Unfortunately since I’ve had this for a while it’s not available for sale anymore but if you’re very lucky I’m sure there may be someone reselling there’s. On the other side however, is a table you can still get from Target. This is the Project 62 marble round table. It’s a great end table that has a real marble top. It retails about 90 dollars and it really just does spice up a room. If I had one real complaint about the table, it would be this: the marble patterns can be different and shipping them into your home adds that extra risk. If you’d rather see one in person, I usually see at least one in the Targets around the Houston area so more than likely that should be the case as well. Last but not least is one more item from Target. This is the Joslyn brass leg bench. It’s surprising nice quality and the bench feels so much more sturdy than my last one, which was also from Target. Anyways so that’s the Pink Room. I really wanted to bring what I called the “Pink Room” from where I lived before which was my parents’ house, as my office/guest room, since the other bedroom is currently Jimmy’s studio. In preparation of doing any of my renovations or little home makeovers, I like to really draw out room layouts. So what I like to start with is either a notebook paper with a pencil, or if you’re extra like me, you will experiment with using the iPad and Apple pencil. Once I’ve finished placing in the bigger pieces, I try to fill in some of the accessories or decor in the drawing as well. This gives me a good idea as to if the accessories I’ve placed are in a good spot or not. And once you’ve finished all of that, voila, you have an, at least, distinguishable room design that can help you visualize your room better. Now we can head back to the rest of the video. Of course there are some things of the Pink Room that have either gone away or been moved to other parts of the home. One of which is my Alex desk from IKEA that I decided to give away since I wanted an upgrade. I decided that my office needed a more mature facelift. As well as adding pieces of art that are simple and interesting to look at. I didn’t want to repeat the same Pink Wall I had created in the original and for now, I have elected to not paint the Pink room. Instead I’ve focused on a color theme that consists of Pink, Gold, and White. Of the pieces I did buy to spice up the room I bought a gold Iron bed from Safavieh. I’m not sure if they sell these pieces anymore but I got it last year for about 250-300 USD. I like the almost art deco design to it, it feels clean and modern and it didn’t cost too much and since I just took my queen sized mattress and box spring with me it was not too expensive. I also bought a brand new desk, from the website Joybird. This is the Rosalie desk from Joybird. It retails for about 1400 USD and to be honest it’s more for someone that wants a minimal look in their desk. If you’re trying to look for storage this isn’t it. It sports an A-Frame gold leg and a marble top which may look different from the one you see here. And some things that I have bought but I haven’t gotten around to hanging up yet are these amazing Mid-Century Modern Movie posters of my favorite “chick flick” movies. I currently have Sleepless in Seattle, Clueless, Mean Girls, and of course Legally Blonde. As for the other things in my room, I kept my lovely Pillowfort pink and gold metal table because...kids furniture is so much cooler than adult furniture sometimes. The bedding that I chose strangely enough was at a Home Goods store, which is one of my favorite places to look for room pieces and decor that are pretty cheap. Sometimes you can find designer items like Kate Spade and Calvin Klein decor there and for me, I’m kind of into designer brands so it really helps to find cheaper options. But I am not completely done yet because I am still waiting for a couple of things. First I need a new bookshelf. And also a few desk accessories as well. I want to actually become organized because as nice as some of my footage of my rooms are, I’m not the neatest person in the room. I kinda have a tendency of leaving things down on a counter and later frantically searching for the items late in a panic state. I still have a lot of work to do with this room and other rooms in the house but this is an amazing first step.
