Sanitation Los Angeles Refuse Trucks 2025-09-27 | Just a little compilation of 3 late ‘90s Volvo Amrep Octo Front Loaders collecting dumpsters at Pan Pacific Park in West LA. This video was filmed between November 2016 and July 2017 when these trucks still ran everyday. The West LA District Yard at the time had 4 of these Volvo Amrep Octo FLs (37008, 37013, 37020, and 37021) that ran everyday doing either bulky items or commercial routes (but mainly bulky). This video features 020, 021, and 013. It would have been cool to feature all 4 of these trucks in this video but the 4th one (008) was always on bulky whenever I ran into it. Green Bumper “Dual Fuel” Peterbilt 320 Amrep ASL Garbage Truck - LASan Los Angeles Refuse Trucks 2025-09-20 | Video from July 2017 of this green bumpered “dual fuel” Amrep collecting post 4th of July recycle in the Pico-Union neighborhood of Los Angeles. This truck was originally an East Valley truck but was transferred over to the North Central yard where it operated for the rest of its life with LASan.This truck was retired sometime in 2018 but got a second chance at life with a company named Emadco up north where it most likely still operates today: youtu.be/A13fvBTq7oA?si=r1XLupueNKiYwTyg. Although it was fully converted to diesel, it is still amazing that some of these trucks survived and still run to this day. Peterbilt 310 Heil Formula 5000 Rear Load Garbage Truck (NASA Services R7) Los Angeles Refuse Trucks 2025-08-30 | The pre-RecycLA days in the city of Los Angeles. Where you can find a lot of cool trucks from various private haulers in the same area on any given day. I filmed this truck back in April of 2017 in the Westlake/Rampart Village neighborhoods of Los Angeles on multifamily recycling collection. Just months before the RecycLA contracts were set to begin. This truck was a former MarBorg Industries truck before NASA Services acquired it. All the stops in this video are now collected by Athens Services under the RecycLA contract and this truck has been out of service for several years now, it most likely got scrapped. Please enjoy this quick blast to the past and enjoy this classic truck that was still running strong and putting in the work years later. Tiny Rear Loader Garbage Truck on a HUGE Trash Pile - L.A. Sanitation Illegal Dumps Los Angeles Refuse Trucks 2025-06-07 | Here we have a very clean Ford F-550 New Way Diamondback Rear Load Garbage Truck tackling a huge illegal dump pile. The pile consisted mostly of street vendor food, produce and other waste. Even seashells! This pile was so big they had to close a lane of traffic just to get this pile off the ground. Watch as the crew cleans up and removes every single piece of trash off the floor and into the back of their garbage truck. The truck’s packer managed to keep up with this very large load of trash as well. Old Diesel Pete/Amrep Garbage Truck in the Hollywood Hills! Los Angeles Refuse Trucks 2025-05-03 | Back in summer of 2016, we were on a mission to document the last remaining 2000-2001 diesel Pete Amreps before they were to be put out of service. Here’s the very first truck we found that summer. Collecting greens up in the Beachwood Canyon neighborhood of the Hollywood Hills. We biked/walked all the way up to the top of Beachwood Drive where we were told this truck would be. Lucky for us, he was coming downhill so following this truck was easier than if he was going uphill. Big thanks to the very friendly driver for letting us follow and film. At the time, this was the city’s oldest full size ASL. Nowadays, that award would go to a 2008-2009 LNG Pete Amrep. Thanks for watching and please enjoy! Los Angeles Refuse Trucks 2025-03-29 | Here’s 36802, a now retired 2005 Diesel Pete Amrep running a recycle route in the Pacific Palisades 9 years ago. Definitely loved hearing this truck when it had this roar. One of the first one of these to develop such a sound. I originally uploaded this video back in 2016 when it was first filmed but I’m bringing this video back now with improved audio and quality. LA Sanitation’s Electric Mack LR Amrep ASL Garbage Truck! Los Angeles Refuse Trucks 2025-03-01 | I was at home when I heard the sounds of the arm collecting a can next door. I thought it was one of the newer yellow arm Peterbilt 520 Amreps because those are on the quieter side and I don’t usually hear those until they’re a few houses down. But I never expected this. This was quite the surprise and I sure wish I was more prepared to film my can being collected but this will do. Pretty cool seeing this truck collecting greens and in my neighborhood. Such a sharp looking truck too. Didn’t really seem to have any struggles during the time it was on my street. I didn’t follow the truck because I’ve heard about this driver not being the coolest with other filmers so I just decided to film both sides of my street without him seeing me. I think it still came out good and there’s already a few quality videos of this truck out there on YouTube. This video definitely gives me the vibe from my 2004 footage my parents filmed for me when I was really young. So please enjoy this unexpected surprise at my house! Thank you for watching! My Trash, Recycling, and Greenwaste Collections of 2024 Los Angeles Refuse Trucks 2025-01-01 | Here’s an annual video I really wasn’t planning on making again but it was a pretty popular request so I decided to make this video again this year. This would be the 8th installment of this type of video. I started doing these back in 2017 and it’s crazy to think that in 2024 I would still be uploading a video like this. Anyways, as with every other year, this video runs from the very first collection in January until the very last collection in December. Most clips were lazily shot but I think they mostly came out good. Most clips are of greens and recycle because those two streams usually come later in the afternoon after I get home from work. Trash usually comes in the mornings when I’m at work so there’s not many clips of trash in here. Small Rear Loader Garbage Truck on Condo Complex Recycle (Pt.3) Los Angeles Refuse Trucks 2024-09-28 | The final part of this small 2023 Isuzu New Way Diamondback being rented by the City of Los Angeles finishing up in this gated condo complex in Pacoima. Like I said in the other videos, this route is normally done by a mini Amrep but the driver decided to use this instead and it was definitely interesting to watch this truck keep up with all the heavy recycle thrown into it. He definitely finished the route in this truck faster than it would have taken in the mini Amrep because he was able to knock out both sides at once and no need for those tight maneuvers with the bigger truck as this truck fit everywhere with ease. I found this cool crew collecting illegal dumps around the North Central District around 5PM this past Thursday evening. I followed them for a few hours as they tackled stops that consist of illegal dumps reported to the city using 311.Please enjoy this very clean small truck eating illegally dumped waste. Old Peterbilt “310” Amrep Octo ASL Garbage Truck Los Angeles Refuse Trucks 2024-08-04 | Filmed back in April 2021. We stumbled upon this old beast collecting trash in Adelanto. We’re all pretty certain this is a former City of San Diego truck. The recycle truck on this route also makes a short appearance and we’re certain that one is also a former City of San Diego truck. Unfortunately, both trucks in this video have been retired for a few years already. Very happy to have been able to film this old beast and watch it still put in work as it was aging. Old Diesel Peterbilt 320/Amrep ASL Garbage Truck on Heavy Recycle Los Angeles Refuse Trucks 2024-07-28 | Footage from summer 2016 of the only 2001 Diesel Pete Amrep that had a regular route out of the North Central yard. This footage was from its Friday route in Hancock Park that was always very heavy and always managed to pack this truck out. So sit back and enjoy this now extinct beast doing recycle 8 years ago. Fast and Zippy Amrep ASL Garbage Truck on Recycle Los Angeles Refuse Trucks 2024-06-08 | On this day back in August 2017, I came home from school and noticed all the recycle in my neighborhood was untouched which was (and still is) pretty common but then I heard the zipping arm and immediately knew I had to go find who it was. To my surprise, it was my recycle guy in his old truck. At the time, his regular truck was a 2016 CNG 320 Amrep, 36228. This truck, 36510, was the one he drove before that and the one I grew up watching him come to my house with. From the looks of it, he definitely broke down earlier in the day because of how much he had left on this day. I remember way back then, he would operate this truck similarly to this. He would either rev the truck for the entire cycle, or free fall the arm. But I never saw him do both at the same time so this was such a lucky one time find. I have a lot of older videos of him in this truck from 2014-15 before he changed trucks. Another truck, 36520, came to help out and one clip of that is in this video. Unfortunately, this was the last time I would ever film this truck. This truck was retired sometime in 2018.Please enjoy the video. I followed him until he finished his route and it was definitely a nostalgic experience. Big thanks to the driver, Joe Garcia, for letting me film as always and for all the years of service he provided to the city and to my neighborhood. He’s been retired for a few years now. Small Rear Loader Garbage Truck on Condo Complex Recycle Los Angeles Refuse Trucks 2024-05-04 | Here we have one of LA City’s rental satellite rear loader garbage trucks. A 2023 Isuzu paired with a New Way Diamondback. Funny enough, this truck has Iowa license plates. This truck is seen here collecting recycle in a large condo complex on a late April afternoon. This is part 1 of this truck as I got a ton of video (3 videos worth) because I followed him from the beginning of the complex all the way to the end. Usually the mini Amrep “baby trucks” do this route but this driver prefers to do his route the old school way because to him, it’s faster, easier to navigate, and overall more efficient. And I agree after seeing how quickly he managed to pull the route compared to the time it would have taken him in the usual mini Amrep ASL. Very fun little truck to follow around and it managed to keep up with all the loads of recycle with its fast packer. Big thanks to David for letting me know about this route and for letting me follow and film him finish up his route.
