iFlow is a collaborative project of Royal FloraHolland, Zentoo, Wageningen University, and Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) to optimise the floriculture sector and make it more sustainable. The goal of the iFlow project is to explore the potential value of AI and to develop AI applications with real value for growers, auctioneers, transporters, and supply chain managers of flower products. Research led to key insights and the results are useful for both the flower industry and for the AI academic community. The project explores how data can help support decisions of Royal FloraHolland for their members.
Researchers at RSM studied the use of data analytics in clock presale and the auction process and its effect on the auction price. Researchers from Wageningen University studied how sharing and analysing data can optimise the logistics process and make it more sustainable.
The iFlow project runs until 2020 to further optimise the floriculture sector and make it more sustainable.
