In this fireside chat, Celia Hodent and Manon Dave will explore the idea that gaming has evolved from being a category into a capability. Manon will demonstrate this through two BBC Future World Design initiatives: SIGNALS, an interactive television layer that transforms the primary screen into a shared, playable experience, and PATHFINDER, which applies game-native thinking to discovering and developing the next generation of creative talent. Together, these examples challenge us to think of gaming itself as the platform through which entirely new forms of engagement and creativity can emerge.
Speakers: Celia Hodent (Game UX Strategist, Ethical Games) & Manon Dave (Head of Future World Design, BBC R&D)
Recorded at the 2026 Games for Change Festival, "Reimagining Play," July 21 to 22 at The Glasshouse in New York City.
