#1. Back up your Mac
#2. Restore from a Time Machine backup
Connect the Time Machine drive and boot your Mac in Recovery mode.
When you see the startup options screen on an Apple silicon Mac, choose options, then Continue.
When you see the macOS Utilities menu, choose Restore from Time Machine backup and click Continue.
#3. Reinstall the version of the OS that your Mac had originally (only works for Intel Mac)
Shut down your Mac.
Hold down Shift-Option-Command-R and press the power button.
Release the keys when you see the Apple logo.
Choose reinstall macOS.
#4. Downgrade using a bootable installer
Make the bootable installer — download Ventura from the App Store here apps.apple.com/us/app/macos-ventura/id1638787999?mt=12
Name your USB stick ‘Ventura installer,’ and the installer you downloaded must be in your Applications folder
The Terminal command you’ll need to make an installer: sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Ventura.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/MyVolume (note that MyVolume in the command is to be replaced with the name of your USB drive)
Downgrading is really not that difficult, even if you use the Terminal method. The most important thing to remember is to backup your Mac before you upgrade.

Restarting usually indicates that your Mac is having a problem that it can’t resolve, and the only way to get past it is to restart.
But why does Mac keep restarting?
The problem could be a number of things, but it’s often it’s a kernel panic (a problem with that code.) In other words, it’s a problem at the very core of the system.
What causes a kernel panic?
As with any other problem on your Mac, there are two possible culprits: hardware and software. So, what can we do to fix it? Here are some things to try:
1. Unplug peripherals.
Check for software problems: malware (download CleanMyMac X for free and use the Malware module to scan your Mac.)
2. Update macOS and apps.
Apple menu - System Settings - General - Software Update.
To update your App Store apps, launch the App Store and click on the Updates section, then Update All. For apps not from the App Store, launch them, then click the app name in the menu bar and click Check for Updates.
3. Run macOS maintenance scripts.
Launch CleanMyMac X and choose Maintenance in the sidebar.
Check the box next to Maintenance Scripts.
Click Run.
4. Reset the NVRAM. This fix applies only if you have an Intel Mac. It won’t work on an Apple Silicon Mac. Basically, you need to reset the NVRAM or PRAM.
NVRAM, or PRAM holds data that your Mac needs to start up. It’s powered by its own battery so that even when your Mac is shut down and unplugged, it retains the data. To reset, do this:
5. Shutdown your Mac.
Hold down the Command, Option (also called Alt), P, and R keys and press the power button.
When you hear the startup chime twice, release the keys and let your Mac startup normally.

Is Chrome running slow? Google Helper Process might be eating your CPU, which causes Mac to slow down big time. But before fixing it, let’s talk about what the Google helper process actually is.
What is the Google Helper process?
The helper process allows you to run third-party plug-ins and extensions in Chrome. It’s kind of a bridge between Chrome and third-party tools.
Can you disable Google Helper?
Disabling the Google Helper process means you’ll not be able to use any plug-ins or extensions. So, it’s not a good idea to do that, and probably not the best solution to your problems either.
How to reduce CPU usage?
1. Uninstall or disable plug-ins and extensions.
Chrome menu - Settings - Extensions.
If there are any extensions you don’t use, just click Remove. Then click Update to update the rest.
2. Check heavy-consumer applications.
Utilities - Activity Monitor. Look at the Memory/CPU columns to see which apps are using the most memory or CPU cycles.
Or, to make it easier for you, use CleanMyMac X: CleanMyMac - Optimization - View all Items. Then check the box next to Heavy Consumers to see the apps that are using the most resources. Check the box next to the ones you want to quit and click Perform
3. Update macOS.
Apple menu - System Settings - General - Software Update.
Wait a few seconds to see if there is an update available. Then simply follow the on-screen instructions.
4. Declutter your desktop.
5. Disable Google Chrome helper for each extension individually.
Chrome menu - Settings - Extensions.
Click on ‘Details’ on any extension.
From the dropdown menu under Site Access, choose ‘on click’.
6. Reset Chrome back to its default settings.
Chrome menu - Settings - Reset Settings. Then click ‘Restore settings to their original defaults.’
Click Reset Settings.

What is Spotify cache?
Spotify cache is the songs you listen to on Spotify. It saves data on your Mac so that if you play the same song more than once in a session, it doesn’t have to stream it over the internet again, it just uses the data in the file.
Now imagine how much cache is created if you listen to Spotify all day long! My advice: get rid of it. Here’s how…
How to minimize Spotify cache?
Before trying to get rid of Spotify’s cache completely, try to make it smaller in size first to free some room on your Mac.
BTW, did you know that you can change the audio quality settings for streaming and downloaded music on Spotify?
The higher the quality, the more data that will stream and the more that will be cached. If you reduce the quality, Spotify will stream less data, so the size of its cache will be smaller. Here’s what you need to do:
- Open Spotify, click on the Spotify menu, then choose Settings.
- Scroll down to Audio quality and click the menu next to Streaming Quality.
- Choose the Normal or Low option.
How to clear the Spotify cache on Mac ASAP?
CleanMyMac X
Use the System Junk tool in CleanMyMac X to clear the Spotify cache on your Mac.
- Download and launch CleanMyMac X.
- Choose System Junk, and click Scan. Then click Review Details - User Cache files.
- Scroll down to Spotify.app cache, select it, and click Clean.
How to delete Spotify’s cache manually?
Step 1. Locate cache files.
Spotify - Spotify menu - Settings.
Scroll down and click Advanced Settings.
Look for the Offline Storage Location section. When you find it, copy the address. It should be something like Users/[your username]/Library/Application Support/Spotify/PersistentCache/Storage
Step 2. Delete cache.
Click on the Finder icon in the Dock. Then Click the Go menu and choose Go to Folder
Paste the address you just copied into the text box and press Return.
Select all the contents of the folder, drag them to the Trash, and empty the Trash.

Have you seen the message ‘other volumes in a container’? If yes, here’s what it means…
But first, let’s start with the container.
What is a container?
Before macOS High Sierra, Mac disks were formatted using a system called HFS+. In High Sierra, Apple replaced HFS+ with a system called APFS. One of the main differences between HFS+ and APFS is containers and partitions.
In HFS+, if you wanted to have more than one volume on a disk, you had to partition it and put each volume separately. APFS, on the other hand, doesn’t have partitions. It has containers. Each container can store multiple volumes; you don’t need to erase the disk to create a new container. It can even grow in size as long as you have enough disk space.
What does ‘other volumes in a container’ mean?
The container that stores the boot volume for macOS has multiple volumes ( including the Recovery & preboot partitions and a volume for virtual memory.) So the ‘other volumes in a container’ message usually refer to those volumes.
If they’re taking up too much space than they should, here’s a quick fix:
1. Download CleanMyMac X.
2. Launch it and choose the Maintenance module.
3. Then check the box next to Purgeable Space and click Run.
If that didn’t work, try creating a new user account. Here’s how:
1. Apple menu - System Settings - Users & Groups - Add Account.
2. Type in your administrator password and click Unlock.
3. Choose Administrator from the dropdown menu.
4. Enter account details: Full name, account name, and password. Click 5. Create User.
6. Restart your Mac and log in with the new administrator account.
7. Relaunch System Settings, choose General, then Storage, and see if other volumes in a container have gone.
Manage volumes using Terminal. Here’s how:
1. Applications - Utilities - Terminal. Type: diskutil list
2. You will see a list of volumes (if your boot disk is called MAcintosh HD, these volumes should include: Macintosh HD, Macintosh HD - Data, Preboot, Recover, and VM.)
3. Launch Disk Utility from your Utilities folder, select the volume you want to delete in the sidebar, and press the ‘-‘ in the toolbar. If the volume is greyed out, it’s in use by macOS, and you can’t delete it.
4. If you need to reboot in recovery mode, you can do it on an Intel Mac by holding down Command and R when you restart. Hold down the power button on an Apple Silicon Mac as it restarts and release it when the Startup Options appear.
Free up space on your Mac by disabling iCloud content caching:
System Settings - General - Sharing.
Set the Content Caching to switch off. If you want to leave content caching on, click the ‘i’ next to it and choose which content to cache or set a limit.
Free up space on your Mac by getting rid of suspicious apps:
1. Utilities - Activity Monitor.
2. Click the top of the Memory column. You’ll see apps and processes listed by the amount of memory they’re using. See anything suspicious? 3. Click the ‘x’ in the toolbar to quit it.
Bonus tip: It’s a good idea to uninstall the app. Use CleanMyMac X’s Uninstaller to do that in under 5min.
Stay tuned for more Mac tips & tricks!

In this tutorial, you’ll learn what clean installation is and how to clean install macOS Ventura on your Mac.
What does clean Installation mean?
Clean Installation means wiping out your entire computer to install new software. Obviously, you don’t need to go to such an extreme if your Mac runs smoothly. But for used, sluggish, and cluttered Macs, it’s your way out of the rabbit hole!
So let’s start with macOS Ventura clean install. Simply follow the steps below.
Step 1. Clean the system junk
Before backing up your entire system to the removable disk, I suggest you clean all the system junk first. You don’t want all those old junk files on your freshly updated Mac. And the most no-sweat way to do it is to use the CleanMyMac X app.
Download CleanMyMac X for free & run System Junk scan:

Back up using Time Machine
Plug in the external drive.
Go to System Settings - General - Time Machine.
Pick your hard drive and set it up to be your backup disk. Your Mac will take care of the rest.
Alternatively, you can use iCloud storage to back up your data safely. Just follow these instructions:
Go to System Preferences - Apple ID - iCloud.
Check that iCloud is turned on.
Click Options, check the box next to the Desktop & Documents Folder and click Done.
Step 2. Download macOS Ventura Installer
Go to Mac App Store, type macOS Ventura in the search bar, and feel free to download (but don’t click “install now”).
Step 3. Create bootable installer
Find another removable disk or USB drive (with no less than 15GB storage capacity). Copy an installer onto this drive:
Open Terminal.
Copy this command into the Terminal app:
sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Ventura.pp/Contents/Resources/ createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/MyVolume
*but don’t forget to replace MyVolume with your USB name.
Type your password and press Enter.
For Apple Silicon Macs:
Open System Preferences, click System Preferences in the menu bar and then click Erase All Content and Settings. Enter your password and click Continue.
For Intel Macs:
Restart your Mac while holding the Option key. When you’ll see your bootable volumes appear, release the Option key. Select your drive and click Return. Then select your internal drive and click Erase. When the process is complete, select install macOS from the Utilities.
Good luck, and enjoy macOS Ventura! More handy Mac tutorials are on their way. Stay tuned!

How do we even measure the performance of a Mac device?
It comes down to four main components:
CPU: the brain of the computer that controls every operation
disk speed: write/read speeds of your hard drive
RAM: in charge of multitasking between apps
GPU: handles all graphics and rendering
Here are some apps that can help you measure your Mac performance:
#1 Activity Monitor
Shows a list of processes that are running on your Mac simultaneously

Here are some key differences between macOS Ventura and macOS Monterey:
1) macOS Ventura vs. Monterey performance:
macOS Ventura is designed to optimize Apple’s new M-series chips; so it’s safe to assume that it will be quite taxing on older Macs.

2) Safari features on Ventura and Monterey:
Share groups of tabs and bookmarks
Make FaceTime calls and send Messages from within Safari — no application switching needed
PassKey, Apple’s new authentication system is also part of Safari in macOS Ventura
3) Spotlight improvements
The search tool can now look for pictures in your Photo library, Messages, Notes, and even on the internet.
4) New Apps on Ventura

Freeform — a whiteboard app that allows you to use an Apple Pencil to write, scribble, or draw

Here’s a quick tutorial from me to solve Mac overheating and the issues that caused it.
Step 1. Close web browser tabs
Each open tab uses memory and consumes CPU cycles, so the more you have open, the more energy you use. Simply close down those you don’t need.
Step 2. Check CPU usage
Open Activity Monitor (Finder - Applications - Utilities).
Click the CPU tab.
Quit those intensive apps: select the process or an app and click the "X" button. Confirm to quit the app.
Or use CleanMyMac X to evaluate CPU performance at a glance and quit those processes/apps with a single click. Get your free version here: bit.ly/3LUd3iV
Step 3. Quit unused apps
Press Option-Command-Escape.
Select the app you want to close and click Force Quit.
Step 4. Check login items & launch agents
First check for login items:
Click Apple menu - System Preferences.
Select Users & Groups.
Go to the Login Items tab.
Then check the launch agents that are running:
Open Finder and choose Go in the top menu.
Click on Go - Go to Folder.
Now paste in: /Library/LaunchAgents
Use CleanMyMac X to do everything in one place and in no time. Download the app here: bit.ly/3LUd3iV
Step 5. Avoid direct sunlight & hot environments
Step 6. Keep your computer clean
Use a can of compressed air to clean hard-to-reach corners of your Mac: you just need to remove the bottom panel and spray the air into the vents. Then, grab a microfiber cloth and gently wipe away any dust.
Step 7. Update your Mac
Go to Apple menu - About This Mac - Software Update. If an update is available, click Update Now.
Now your battery should last longer. For more tips, read the full article here: bit.ly/3rfEtX1

If you’ve already upgraded your Mac to macOS Ventura and you’re experiencing Bluetooth problems, try these troubleshooting tricks:
Check for system updates
If you’re running macOS Ventura, here’s how to check if there’s an update:
Go to System Settings - General. Here, click Software Update. If there’s an update present, you should install it.
Unpair + repair your device
Go back to System Settings and click Bluetooth. Click the device that’s giving you a problem. Then, click Forget This Device.
Repair your device to see if it worked.
Turn Bluetooth on/off
Go to your top menu bar and click the Control Center. Switch the Bluetooth on and off.
Remove obstructions
Go to Wi-Fi - Other Networks. Look for your network name [your router name] - 5G and connect to that network. Your Bluetooth device is using 2G — make sure all of your devices don’t use the same signal.
This should prevent your Bluetooth device not showing up on Ventura.
Run maintenance scripts
The app I’m using is CleanMyMac X. You can download it here:
bit.ly/3bWw5rD
Reset Bluetooth module
Open Terminal and run this command:
sudo pkill bluetoothhd
Then, reset your device to see if your “macOS Ventura Bluetooth not working” issue is gone.
Reset Bluetooth plist
Go to Finder - Go to Folder. Enter this location:
~/Library/Preferences
Here, search for this file:
com.apple.Bluetooth.plist
Drag the file to the Trash and restart your Mac.
Hope that helped!
