ICARUS is the first game to support RTX Global Illumination with infinite scrolling volumes. According to the developers, the game uses ray tracing to constantly update the Global Illumination lighting volume around the player as they move through Icarus’ world. This feature is supposed to cut back memory usage associated with ray traced global illumination, however, as you see in the benchmark, this open world game still uses 25 GB of RAM with this featured turned on.
