(read description) dave xs 2026-04-26 | I start the ride in -12 Mic gain, the max.Added* in the Zoom H2N recorder at 7.25 minutes.Just the zoom at another point.I then took down the Mic Gain on the mic 2 to -7 for the last riding section, no Zoom.The object is finding the balance between voice, bike sound and wind noise.NO AUDIO OR VIDEO EDITING ADJUSTMENTS DONE. AS IT CAME OUT OF THE DJI ACTION 4.Shot in 1080 60fps. Rendered to 4K
DJI Action 4, Mic gain settings, Motorcycle (READ DESCRIPTION) dave xs 2026-04-18 | I try -12 and -20 mic gain, on a cheap lav mic, in my helmet. Am also using a Zoom H2N recorder, in a rucksack of foam. The Zoom was set to 1 mic gain.I sync them together in edit. The problem I found was at -20 on the lav mic, even maxing out the volume in edit, it was pretty quiet, as will notice.At -12 the volume in edit was still a little low and did not pick up the bike noise, as you can hear.The setting I think for a good balance, in edit, bike noise, voice and no wind, will be from -6 to -10 mic gain. Wind reduction OFF. The audio is RAW, no edit.As a side issue I have filmed in 2.7 k at 24fps and later on, I go to 60fps. All rendered in 4K and 60fps.I normally record in 1080 60fps and render in 4K

I Ride With An Ex 500cc GP Rider. (READ DESCRIPTION) dave xs 2025-12-01 | This is a first.We are joined by 500cc, 2 stroke, Grand Prix rider from the late 80's. He has rubbed shoulders and fairings with some greats. He also competed in the FIM World Superbike Championships and the first ever, 2 WSBK races. His weapon of choice is the Ducati Monster 937.There will be more rides with the present company and some future road trips.I will be buying a bigger bike so, I can a least keep up to some degree....Also in the video with have, a single cylinder, a 2, 3 and 4 cylinder.I'm sure some of you will guess who it is.....

MotoVlogg try out, DJI action 4 & DJI mic 2 (READ DESCRIPTION) P1 dave xs 2024-03-11 | Part 1Having now delegated the Gopro to a secondary cam, I try out the DJI Action 4, Adventure pack paired with the DJI Mic 2.In this video I have recorded in 2.7/60f, I then rendered in 4k at editing.Next video's will be recorded in 4k/60f and 1080/60f and rendered in 4k.Very happy with the initial results, with settings mostly left at auto and no ND filters were used on the cam and no colour grading was done in editing. Minimal fuss is what I like....., Record, chop out the rubbish clips, export, done.
End of my tether with the Kin GOPRO (READ DESCRIPTION) dave xs 2024-03-04 | Reviews I have seen, the DJI action 4 outstrips the Gopro 10, 11 and 12 in just about all departments. The issues I had with Gopro was audio related when using the expensive media mod. I am a long time Gopro user, but I've had enough of wasting hours footage, due to audio not working.I chucked a few clips on the end......See you soon with some decent audio and footage.Thanks for the concern some subscribers showed, asking if I was ok...you know who you are....cheers
