I'm taking over this channel so it will only be me from now on (apart from occasional featurings, who knows).What will happen from now on ? I wanted to write a song like this since a long time, I was greatly inspired by the lyrics of "How To Disapear Completely" from Radiohead which move me every time I hear it.I tried a lot to make an arrangement of this music but I felt that I wanted to make my own, to share my experiences. By coincidence the episode about applejack's parents was out right when I was in the middle of writing this song (what a coincidence lol). She was raised there and have since lived a nice and peaceful life along with her friends.She was creating musics about adventures, heroes of all ages, that kind of stuff... Everyone loved her compositions, But something was missing.In fact she always wanted to live the real thing :To live true adventures, and use that has an inspiration for her musics. (*A/N : This is the main reason why I made her a bird as cutie mark instead of something related to music)She was struggling more and more to create new compositions and one day eventually she met the nightmare of all creators, a blank page.Afte some time thinking about it, she decided to pack her things up. Leaving everything behind in search for a new meaning to her life.This symphony is her story and, at the same time, the symphony she could have composed after this long travel to manehatan (she eventually sent her composition to an orchestra there to be played).Now for some backstory :The funny thing is, when I made this symphony, I was so much used to work has a duo that I thought I couldn't come up with something alone : I tried before to make a lot of musics on my own, always ending not satisfied with the results. I'm writing this because I had to talk about this someday and I don't want to wait till I'm forced to (and It's a good occasion to do it). So in this description I will talk about my life : If you don't give a fuck, don't read it. You've been warned. Since I was young I felt different from the people around me, and not in the way I would want to. I tried many times to "fit in" but I just ended up suffering more and more. I finally found some good friends but that did not ended up my suffering, neither do everything I did to escape the matter (alcohol, drugs, games, fiction in general...). Recently it became worse and I had to take antidepressants because I was losing my will to continue living. Enough beating around the bush, the truth is that I got what people would call "Gender Identity Disorder". I recently started to see a psychiatrist in order to find ways to "solve" my "problem" but in the end there was not a lot of choices for me : I could decide to do something about it and this would be an extremely long and difficult path for me and the people close to me or I could live with regrets for the rest of my life.Yeah, these are not easy choices ... I finally decided that the first one would be the best for me in long run. Difficult part is that it will take even longer than I had first expected : the people taking care of me wanted to make sure I'm making the right decision (something I can understand) so they told me that they wanted to "study" me for 1 or 2 years before starting doing anything about it.So here I am now, in a position were the only thing I can do for now is waiting ... and It's extremely frustrating. I personnally loved Fallout: Equestria, it's a great novel and really well written, so if you havn't read it already, you definitly should give it a chance. Once again, I'm really happy to get to work with Tom on this series, it indeed seems that we have a good workflow together, and the third episode is already partly composed when I'm writing these lines (the day before this track's publication). First, I have to say that I'm extremely happy to collaborate with Tom on this new musical serie, it really is an honor. You may, (or may not which is in fact more likely :p) know me as a brony, but aside from music, I also have a passion that never left me since I was very young, I love the sea, and I love sailing as a sport. Which is why I wanted to mix these two and compose something to honor these adventurers that are currently sailing around the world in the Vendée Globe. So when Tom and I decided to make this new serie, I remembered this and took out a draft for piano that I had made and was struggling to orchestrate. We took this draft, changed some of the notes, and orchestrated it. The idea was to fit with both the epic-ness, and sadness of going alone around the world for three month.
