This demo introduces the Obsidian Research Helper, an AI-powered workflow designed to help researchers stay continuously updated throughout the entire lifecycle of a project.
Traditional literature reviews are often done only at the beginning of research projects, creating blind spots as projects evolve and new papers are published. Keyword-based search systems also struggle because research themes naturally shift over time. This project solves that problem by treating research context as something dynamic and evolving rather than static keywords or isolated documents.
Built around Obsidian’s interconnected note graph, the system allows AI agents to traverse linked research notes, dynamically build project context, summarize ongoing progress, and retrieve highly relevant papers in real time. By combining Obsidian, Python tooling, graph traversal, and modern AI agents like OpenClaw, the workflow transforms note-taking into an intelligent research assistant.
