Hi-Intensity Shock Troop Gauntlet, Damnation gameplay using the Orestes Mk IV Assault Chain Axe and Atermia Mk III Purgation Flamer.
I can't lie this weapon really struggles to hold up. It only really shines when you are fighting a completely isolated target, but if there are more than a couple of things attacking you, it peanlises you heavily for using it.
The mechanic that means it sticks to enemies on light attacks, doesn't do enough damage to warrant being imobalised for a second every light hit. And the heavy attacks, while deal OK damage, are too slow to kill hoards effectively or fast enough without being overwhelmed.
The the Special attack didn't work a third of the time, bouncing off of enemies, which was very frustrating.
If I didn't have the Flamer, I would have been a detriment to the team.
Apart from maybe revisiting the Eviscerator at some point, I think this will mark the end of Chain weapon related content, until they receive a buff.
