I make a stronger pipe to bend my 7mm steel rebar. My last bender for this was a bit of pipe, and it was not strong enough and was bending when I put a lot of strain on it. It was time to make a custom-sized, strong square tube/pipe strong enough to do the job of bending the rebar. I think this one will do the job nicely.
Making tools, or what you need to get a job done, is all part of the fun. This was a simple, quick MIG welding project.
The main tools used were a MIG welder, an angle grinder, and a bench vice.
The rebar is 7mm
The Brand of the Drill bits and cutting/flap discs is "Alpha" If you can't get them at your local hardware shop, here is a link to Alpha Tools: https://alphatools.com.au

Always use all the correct safety gear, and use your tools safely. I am not a good role model for this.

Note: When you bend metal/rebar, you naturally weaken it. Bending it cold will normally cause fine cracks, and it may even break if you put enough strain on the rebar or bend it in the same place too many times. Do not rely on cold-bent steel/rebar to support a load.
