Ed Buchanan Uncle Bucks Wake at Bobs Bar Susan Evangelista 2018-07-28 | July 27, 2018, we got together to celebrate an icon from Grand Rapids, Michigan. Ed Buchanan aka Uncle Buck, started his radio career with WLAV in 1970 and stayed there until 1979 when he moved to WCUZ for 16 years. In 1995, Uncle Buck returned to WLAV for the remainder of his radio career. Along with his many mornings on the radio waves of WLAV, he was also well known for “The Ed Buchanan Comedy Hour” and more recently “Breakfast in the Basement” where he spent Sunday mornings highlighting Michigan artists and sharing his music knowledge with listeners. This painting that was unveiled by the artist Mic Carlson and Bob the owner of Bob's Bar, features Uncle Buck with some of his friends at the bar."This painting gives us a bridge to move forward and still be able to smile and look back."
