Universal Kids Resort in Frisco Texas Breaks Ground!Texney2023-11-14 | Universal Parks has finally broken ground on their new Kids Resort themed park in Frisco Texas. It looks as though they started in the north, and are working their way south, excavating. Trees and shrubbery have been removed, and an orange debris barrier has been put up. Temporary driveways have been established where future entrances and exits will one day be. Power lines have been relocated along Panther Creek, but the old ones that run through the property still remain. The city was also there, working on storm water at the time of filming.Universal Kids Resort Construction Update - Frisco Texas - October 2024Texney2024-10-16 | All roads have been paved, minus the hotel circle drive. Traffic lights installed at the main entrance intersection. Exterior sidewalks have begun pave work. All parking has been complete, staff entrances, and backstage driveway are paved. The main entrance into the park has received temporary asphalt. More foundation work has been paved for Trolls, some vertical, and the hotel sees its first vertical work as well. Some SpongeBob foundations have been paved, most notably the rumored Krusty Krab. Shrek has started seeing work, and the Minions river has started being dug, but appears to have suffered a minor landslide. We have not received much, if any, rain, so this slide is most likely due to the heavy machinery being driven next to it.Peppa Pig September Construction Update - Theme Park in Dallas/Ft Worth #northrichlandhillsTexney2024-09-24 | A look at the construction going on at the Peppa Pig Theme Park in North Richland Hills eighteen months after being announced. A lot of landscaping has been done, but mostly just trees. More concrete has been added, and we are seeing final assembly on the play structures and detail work. The front facade on the former Mountasia building has started, and appears to be in the form of the show's trademark green hills. Construction on an exterior wall has also begun. The city has said that this park wont be opening this year due to the weather earlier this spring, but it still looks like there may be a chance for a late December opening, as a lot seems to have been accomplished so far.Universal Kids Resort Construction Update - Frisco Texas - September 2024Texney2024-09-13 | Universal Parkway has been paved, as well as the finished south guest parking lot and the start of the team member parking lot. As predicted, the first foundation has been paved. More work has been done to the various lands that shows how close to the concept art we are getting. Shrek land and Minions have not seen much work however.Driving from Universal Kids Resort theme park in Frisco Texas via Dallas North Tollway (Northbound)Texney2024-09-11 | A view of how the area looks today, a full year after the announcement from Universal Parks and Resorts.

The Mountasia barn has been repainted back to blue, but with more appropriate Peppa Pig shade of blue. More concrete has been paved, pink tarps added, and we can finally see where the Muddy Puddle Splash Pad will be. The city says that it most likely won’t be open until early 2025 due to all the rain they got earlier this year, so we’ll see.Universal Kids Resort Construction Update - Frisco Texas - August 2024Texney2024-08-20 | What a change one month can make! Not only is the north lot finished, but the south lot is almost fully paved. Additional driveways on the southern part of the property have been paved as well, and it looks like they are starting to setup the staff lot next. Finally, actual foundations and other prep work have begun on not just the hotel, but the park lands as well. The northern part of the hotel looks to be fully prepped, with work being done to set up the south part. I predict paved foundations by September!!! A lot of work seems to have started on the Trolls land, and it matches up to the updated concept art we saw last December. It seems that the entire park has begun being developed however, not just Trolls.
Its amazing what all has been done in this heat. Today, it was 107° F (42° C), with a heat index of 112° F (44° C). If it says anything, the drone's maximum limit is 104° F (40° C). Clearly, this was filmed in the morning. This is why the updated concept is mostly indoors, versus the previous more outdoorsy model.Peppa Pig July Construction Update - Theme Park in Dallas/Ft Worth #northrichlandhillsTexney2024-07-28 | A look at the construction going on at the Peppa Pig Theme Park in North Richland Hills sixteen months after being announced. More concrete has been added to the parking lot, as we see our first landscaping planted in the form of very large trees. Peppa’s house, which is part of Daddy Pig’s Roller coaster has been painted yellow, and brown shingles have started being installed. The canopy for Mr Potato’s Showtime Arena appears to be fully installed.Universal Kids Resort Construction Update - Frisco Texas - July 2024Texney2024-07-20 | Major updates this month include the concrete paving of the north parking lot, which appears to be 60% complete. More concrete paving was done to the route along the south parking lot, with the set up of the eastern exit along the DNT access road. Once this exit is complete, they can start constructing the paved areas currently in use. Also, green landscape netting was added on the south side to prevent erosion. This area has a high grade, and it had JUST finished raining when I took off.Peppa Pig June Construction Update - Theme Park in Dallas/Ft Worth #northrichlandhillsTexney2024-06-27 | A look at the construction going on at the Peppa Pig Theme Park in North Richland Hills fifteen months after being announced. It looks like the miniature golf area of the former Mountasia may be spared, and refurbished, bringing an additional activity for park goers to enjoy. The once blue Mountasia buildings are being painted, making it seem like they too will stay and be a part of the park. Most of the parking lot has been paved in concrete, replacing the badly aged Mountasia asphalt.
More details to existing rides have been added, and we now can see where Rebecca Rabbit’s Playground will be, as well as Mr Potato’s Showtime ArenaUniversal Kids Resort Construction Update - Frisco Texas - June 2024Texney2024-06-21 | Upon arrival, I witnessed several concrete mixers pull onto the property. Major updates include the concrete paving of the park entrance driveway up to the gate, as well as development for the parks main entrance, past the parking lots.Peppa Pig May Construction Update - Theme Park in Dallas/Ft Worth #northrichlandhillsTexney2024-05-27 | A look at the construction going on at the Peppa Pig Theme Park in North Richland Hills fourteen months after being announced. Several rides from the attraction Fun Fair have been installed, Peppa Pig's Balloon Ride and Mr Bull's High Striker. Grandad Dog's Pirate Boat and Grampy Rabbit's Dinosaur Adventure have replaced the former Mountasia go-kart track. The miniature golf area still remains, however. Track and ride vehicles for Dinosaur Adventure await installation. Daddy Pig's Roller Coaster is center, and already has its track and ride vehicle installed. The far north west of the property appears to be Rebecca Rabbit's Playground, or at the very least, the staging area for it.
The former asphalt parking lot is gone, however, may possibly return in concrete form. A new northern lot and western lot have been paved, but appear to only be finished phases of a much larger lot.Universal Kids Resort Construction Update - Frisco Texas - May 2024Texney2024-05-20 | Finally got an upgrade! We begin by passing over the hotel guest entrance. They seem to be working on the hotel roundabout. The two main guest parking driveways are taking shape. Going east, the two driveways lead into the future entrance of the park. Further north is the temporary building for the developer. The driveways that wrap around it is the official park entrance and exit for guests. It connects to the future Fields and Frisco Street intersection which is also currently being constructed.
The pond, I believe, is where the new Shrek land will be. It’s most likely there for drainage and other uses. Being spring, we have gotten quite a lot of rain recently, so they are busy laying down drainage pipe for the future park guest lots. Other existing ponds will mostly dry up this summer.
The employee driveway that will one day connect to the Cobb Hills interaction on Panther Creek Parkway has begun, and the white square it dead ends to, I believe, will one day be the home for the administration and employee support building. Further east, along the future Frisco Street, there is another white square, which I believe will be the future home of the Prop Storage and Technical Service building. The actual park itself, and it’s hotel, seem in be in a different phase.
The DJI Tello I had been using is being retired, as I now have a new DJI Mini 3 Pro. I am still learning, so please forgive me while I still figure things out, and get my flight hours in. Though there’s insurance on it, I was so scared of losing it that my entire body shook the whole time I was filming. It’s supposed to go several miles, but every time I would get a disconnection from the remote I would panic and turn the drone around.Driving from Universal Kids Resort theme park in Frisco Texas via Dallas North Tollway (Northbound)Texney2024-05-18 | A view of how the area looks today, a full year after the announcement from Universal Parks and Resorts.

More focus has been given to Panther Creek Parkway. Brush cleared, and more “driveways” been made. These will became roads later but are currently being used for construction pathways. It looks like they may be trying to finish up the area for the hotel to go in, and possibly the parks staff building. But now I feel that they will probably start with parking first.
Any area accessible via public road is now completely covered up with blue fencing tarp, except for construction entrances and exits. It was VERY windy, so drone footage was only possible in one area. Everything else is either from a dash cam, or my cell phone. But the good news is that I should be getting a big upgrade soon, so hopefully May’s update will be “epic.”Peppa Pig April Construction Update - Theme Park in Dallas/Ft Worth #northrichlandhillsTexney2024-04-06 | A look at the construction going on at the Peppa Pig Theme Park in North Richland Hills thirteen months after being announced. Several rides from the attraction Fun Fair have presumably been installed, though much ground work is still being done. Elevation and retaining walls have been graded and erected, and several large boxes have been left near the former Mountasia miniature golf area. It also appears that the parking lot has been relocated to the far west part of the property, with concrete pavement already finished. With the old asphalt parking lot dug up, it’s possible that this side may get attractions as well. It is not yet unknown if the current entrance will remain, or if they plan on secluding itself from the neighboring Sonic that it currently shares an entrance road with, and relocating the entrance to the south side of the property.Universal Kids Resort Construction Update - Frisco Texas - March 2024Texney2024-03-20 | We got a lot of rain the last couple of days, so there’s quite a bit of standing water on the property still. Looks like the property is being used as a staging area for the city storm drainage system, as there are a ton of concrete rectangle manhole segments lined up. These will most likely end up alongside the new roads that border the Universal Kids property, as well as the expanded Panther Creek Pkwy and DNT frontage road.
It was very windy today, so I was unable to get decent shots due to fear of loss.Universal Kids Resort Construction Update - Frisco Texas - February 2024Texney2024-02-16 | Temporary building structures have been constructed with wooden ramps and railings, and what looks to be an asphalt parking lot on the north side of the property. There is still no public access to the area though. What are these being used for? Construction offices? Future staffing? A PREVIEW CENTER?!? Only time will tell.
Large blue water pipes were being delivered along the south, and Balfour Beatty has started putting up blue privacy tarps around the perimeter, with additional chain length fencing awaiting to be put up as well.
Ground leveling is still taking place, with the south side being lowered significantly. The driveway leading into the future hotel entrance sinks down into it, with higher dirt mounds along the southern perimeter. It is believed that these will aid in obstructing both the view of the resort, as well as minimize potential noise.
———————————— ATTENTION LOCAL CONTENT CREATORS: Please be respectful of the residents that live nearby. We don’t want to give them any reason not to like us. I was only here briefly, and noticed one person (shown in the video) completely blocking the street, while another (not shown) parking on the same road, forcing people leaving the neighborhood to use oncoming traffic’s lane to pass while they got out to take their pictures/videos.
I recommend parking several streets in, and NOT in front of anyone’s house. If you intend to be quick, and can’t deal with the walking, the painted median on eastbound Panther Creek (protected by cones) and at the dead end of Panther Creek is an option. This is where Frisco Police, and other workers choose to park when they need to be there, and is typically available, but don’t get greedy.Driving from Universal Kids Resort theme park in Frisco Texas via Dallas North Tollway (Northbound)Texney2024-01-29 | A view of how the area looks today, a full year after the announcement from Universal Parks and Resorts.

Privacy wall for the Cobb Hills neighborhood is complete. Doesn’t quite match. Not sure if they tried their best to match it, or if they went with a different brick company. The south side of the lot is currently being sunken in to lower sight lines from the south.Peppa Pig January Construction Update - Theme Park in Dallas/Ft Worth #northrichlandhillsTexney2024-01-06 | A look at the construction going on at the Peppa Pig Theme Park in North Richland Hills ten months after being announced. Universal Studios Singapore is located within the Resorts World Sentosa integrated resort at Sentosa Singapore. The construction of Resorts World Sentosa and Universal Studios Singapore began on April 19th 2008. On September 24th 2009, plans were revealed for Shrek's Far Far Away and Madagascar-themed zones. After almost two years of construction, the park had a soft opening on March 18th 2010. The official grand opening of the park was held on May 28th 2011
