THE AMAZING COLOSSAL MAN - Synth Cover Kweer Kaiju 2022-11-03 | I had actually intended to post this in time for Bert I. Gordon's 100th birthday in September, but better late than never, right? Mr. Big's go-to composer Albert Glasser is slightly infamous for how over the top his scores could be, but I'm rather fond of them. His work had a strong sense of rhythm and melody that shows even through the bombast, and his more atmospheric pieces are a delight, too. The Amazing Colossal Man is both my favorite Gordon film and has my favorite Glasser score, so I figured this would be a nice pick for a tribute. THE LOST WORLD - Organ Cover Kweer Kaiju 2022-06-10 | Earlier this year, I stumbled across some information about a love song written for 1925's The Lost World. The original arrangement for ukulele and vocals survives only in sheet form, although a later instrumental jazz version was released on vinyl (youtube.com/watch?v=JFDhtd_0yP4). Gigan Awakens Redux WIP Kweer Kaiju 2022-04-02 | Was that April Fool's Day prank a bit harsh? I think it may have been a bit harsh. Hopefully today's video will make up for some of that.I have genuinely been toying with the idea to do another version of Gigan Awakens for some time and figured a metal version would be the way to go, but it hasn't really come together as well as I'd hoped, mostly because I do not currently have a properly functioning guitar rig.This is my attempt at realizing the project using guitar samples from the FLEX plugin. I really wish there was a practical way to render the same guitar tone for both power chords and tremolo picking; this is the best I could manage for now, and I'm not really satisfied with it. The overall mix is also not up to the standard I usually hold my own work to, again in part due to the difficulty of manipulating these guitar samples for anything more complex than background beats.Still, I hope it's enough for now to please those of you who got your hopes up yesterday.

I was not expecting this to come together as well as it did so quickly, and I'm foregoing my usual rule of uploading every two weeks to bring you this one right away. In turning this catchy but fairly minimalist cue into an exciting synth track, I looked to Chu Ishikawa and Brad Fiedel's work on the Tetsuo and Terminator films, respectively. RE-ANIMATOR - Synth Cover Kweer Kaiju 2021-12-28 | Another of my favorite film composers, Richard Band has been doing great work in the realm of low-budget horror, sci-fi, and fantasy since the late 1970s. His theme for Re-Animator, a riff on Bernard Herrman's Psycho theme, is one of those perfect horror pieces that brings an unexpected sense of fun and humor to its gruesome subject matter.
