Pomoly Leo 2 Hot Tent - First Look Signal Outdoors 2023-02-19 | #pomoly #wintercamping #hottent Today we're going to take a look at the LEO 2 hot tent from Pomoly.I purchased the LEO 2 for $250. It comes in a rather nice bag with buckles to help take the load off the zipper. Inside the bag, we'll find the outer tent, inner tent, 3 aluminum poles, 14 aluminum steaks, and 4 guy lines. The whole package is advertised as weighing 8.6 pounds but mine was nearly a pound heavier than that at 9.3 pounds.Setting up the tent is easy but can prove cumbersome in tight areas given the two main support poles are rather long and the sleeves that these poles slide into are prone to binding up. The setup does take some patience but isn't a show-stopper by any means. With a little practice, it takes around 10 minutes to set up.
Superior Hiking Trail: An Adventure on the North Shores Iconic Trail Signal Outdoors 2022-10-28 | Join me for my first solo section hike of the Superior Hiking Trail. I’m a backpacker and adventure seeker. I started backpacking a little over 3 years ago and I have plenty of adventures under my belt by now. I’ve backpacked in the heat of summer, in the sub-zero winters of Minnesota, I’ve sat around fires with good friends, and experienced solo trips so quiet it’ll make your ears ring. However, all my trips up till now have been missing something. That is up till now, they’ve all been 24 hours long. It’s time to change that so I’ve planned a 4-day 3-night adventure that will take me across 35 rugged miles of Minnesota’s Superior Hiking Trail. I’ve enlisted my friend John AKA “@swagonthetrail8279 ” to help me get started. He’s hiked every section of the 300-mile Superior Hiking Trail. The ultimate bundle from superior gear contains everything to need to get started. The bundle includes the superior hammock, the superior comforter, hammock suspension and a tarp. It retails for $680 dollars before upgrades and the bundle saves you $50 vs purchasing it all separately. I opted to upgrade to a 15-degree winter rated hammock and 30-degree quilt. Tarp Tent Adventure With Special Guests Signal Outdoors 2021-03-21 | Welcome back to Signal Outdoors. It’s time for another adventure! In this episode I head out for an early spring adventure with some new friends, Cody from Bohemian Adventurers, Tim from Backpacking with Buckley, and Danny from Superior Gear. With no snow to pull in the hot tent and a hammock setup that can't go down into the 20's; I opted for the tarp tent on this adventure. It worked great and given there were no bugs out yet I slept right on the group without any bug net.Pad straps field notes:The pad straps worked great! However, without a good way to close up the top of the bag it got a little drafty up at the shoulders. I took that setup down to 25F (-4C) and I think that's as low as I'd take the old mummy quilt setup. Hot Tent Sub Zero Test Night | My coldest night in the hot tent Signal Outdoors 2021-02-21 | #hottent #wintercamping #hottentstoveIts time for another hot tent adventure! In this video we put the $50 DIY hot tent stove to the test in harsh conditions. Given this is my first go in sub zero temps, I stay close to home and tent out in the backyard. Tune in to see if I make it though the night!?Stove field notes:Pros: - The stove can fit large chunks of wood allowing for long run times with much less wood prep. - The stove is quick to deploy. - It heats the tent in even the coldest of temps. I got my largest temperature difference ever with this stove (65F boost). - The stove is light weight for its size.Cons: - The stove is a little bulky taking up a large chunk of space in the pulk sled. - The baffle needs adjusting. When the stove cools down it can stop drafting and put smoke into the tent. - No window to see the fire.
