[MKW WR] Bowsers Castle - 2:09.849

Solid laps all around, without any major driving errors. The run itself is much more consistent than my old record from 2018, but I definitely want to see how much further I can take this.
Also, for whatever reason, my Wii is no longer able to connect to the internet, which is why I'm unable to upload this ghost (or my MG improvement from a few weeks ago) to CTGP for the time being. Hopefully I can figure this problem out soon.

I know I'm capable of lowering this further, but this category has gotten pretty ridiculous to improve on at this level, so I think I'll leave it here for now. Now that it's summer, I'll have a lot more time to play this game, so I'm hoping to return to some other tracks I have record potential on.
Lap 1: Really solid for a no lucky ramp lap. My best lap 1 is 37.116, and my best no lucky ramp lap is 37.178, and driving a split this close to BKS is pretty crazy for a track like this.
Lap 2: Overall I drove pretty good this lap, but I got screwed over by unlucky bounces in a few places that cost me a decent lap.
Lap 3: Lap 3 had some really unfortunate mistakes, so the lucky ramp saved me at the end. This run could have been even faster if I got a good lucky ramp recovery, but I ended up only getting a marginal time save from it. The last 3 turns on lap 3 are easily the most challenging part of the entire track, and the fire snake position at this pace makes it even more frustrating. I've failed WR paced runs countless times just in this section alone.
Splits: 37.277 / 37.554 / 37.229
I improved to a .088 the day before I set this time, but this run is much better overall. I failed a .239 .155 run without any lucky ramps a few days ago, so this time is still far from what I'm capable of here.

Lap 1 - Really smooth lap overall, even though I still lost .04 over my best lap 1 (which also doesn't get a lucky ramp).
Lap 2 - Considering this is around .3 slower than what I would consider to be a decent lap 2, this split had a lot of mistakes (most notably the bounce before the shroom, the missed wheelie after the shortcut, and the missed last low).
Lap - Just like my lap 1, this split didn't have any real mistakes. I could have done the rehop after the first ramp better, but I didn't lose too much time there.

Lap 1 - Pretty solid, but I've hit .26 lap 1s without the lucky ramp - only real problem was the wide cave slip.
Lap 2 - Really good considering how high the last lowtrick was.
Lap 3 - Even though this lap was driven really sloppily, the trick boost from lap 2 saved me some time. I chose not to go for the lowtrick at the end of lap 3 because I just wanted to finish out the run without choking, but it could have potentially been 1:51 if I tricked off the edge of the ramp. Either way, this was a pretty huge cut over my old PR, so I'm not complaining.

I still can't believe this run happened. Ever since I set my 52.850 earlier this year, 52.7 has always been a goal of mine for GV2, since getting below .8 felt like the last humanly possible sub on this track. Despite the fact I hadn't played much of this course since I got my .826, I became motivated to try it again after seeing it gain some popularity in the TT scene over the past few months (the entire WW top 10 is now under 53 seconds). Coming back to it yesterday expecting to be rusty and unable to complete any laps, this very short session resulted in this run.
Lap 1 - Good beginning, very nice shortcut, and excellent end section. Being only .014 off of the BKS, this lap is very solid all-around.
Lap 2 - Although the shortcut was far from great, the 2nd half of the lap made up for it (the alignment going into the last turn could have been better, though).
Lap 3 - Shortcut was decent, but the turn afterwards caught me off guard, and I ended up angled too far to the left. This cost me a bit of time, but I was still able to barely get the .7.
That's all I really have to say about this run, but I can't express how great it feels to achieve something I've worked towards for so long. Of course, I'm far from finished here, but I can't see myself grinding this track again anytime soon. Thank you for the continued support :)

Really satisfied with this time, especially considering I didn't get any chains. I know that 1:15.5 is more than doable, but I won't play this track again until my time gets beat. Here's the analysis of the run:
Lap 1: Very strong lap. The only noticeable mistake is the shortcut, but everything else was driven nicely.
Lap 2: This was clearly the weak link of the run, but since I got a drop and ate grass after the low jump, it wasn't horrible.
Lap 3: I played the shortcut and turn before the ramp way riskier than I intended, but I'm glad it paid off. I could have clutched out of a 1:15.5 if I had a good ending, but the last turn was terrible. I'm not complaining too much, though.

Really clean and consistent overall, with lap 1 being the fastest split in a WR by almost .03. The run was on 52.7 pace until I hit the curb on the 2nd to last turn of lap 3, so I'm definitely not stopping here.

I'm more than happy to have made such a massive PR cut here, especially after slowly climbing down from a high 2:09 in my other runs. Even though I probably should've gotten a time like this ages ago, I'm just glad it happened. I don't have too many complaints with this run for the most part, but seeing as it still has a few noticeable mistakes, I don't feel like I can put this track to rest just yet. If I were to play it again, I would probably shoot for an even lower 2:09 before I started implementing a few more difficult strats to chase after 2:08. Here's a more detailed analysis of the run:
Lap 1: Very good driving in the first half, and a good shortcut to top it all off. My only real complaint with the lap is the failed trick landing (which probably cost me a little under .1), but the geyser section afterwards was good.
Lap 2: Although I got a fast lowtrick on the first ramp, I lost all the time I had saved by failing yet another landing. But I recovered from it well, and it actually ended up giving me the right alignment to get a third carpet trick. I ended up getting an unwanted stair stick after the 2nd turn, and I was forced to use my shroom there as a backup. I lost a little bit of time because I had to chain an extra wheelie before the half pipes, but it wasn't massive. The split was definitely helped by the small trick boost it had into the lap.
Lap 3: Despite being over .1 slower than the the other two, lap 3 had less noticeable mistakes. The main reason why it was so much slower was because of the first ramp, which sent me way higher than it should have. I had to go a little bit higher off the first halfpipe ramp to avoid hitting the fireball, since you can hit it if you're on a pace like this. Other than that, the rest of the lap was driven good; I wasn't even that nervous, since I didn't expect lap 2 to be as good as it was until I saw the split.

My best splits now give me 1:40.944, so sub 1:41 might be a thing eventually? It would take a pretty crazy run, so I wouldn't count on it happening anytime soon, though.

David's Mii was like the only large one I had on my Wii, so I pretty much had to use him.
Played this for fun, so don't think Rosalina is WR viable or anything. Since I haven't done that many attempts with this character, it feels pretty awkward on some parts of the track, but she might be easier to use on other spots because of her slower speed.
Also, I've tried other characters, but they're so slow I struggle to sub 18 lap 1s with them.
