So what is the total battery capacity that is truly useable in the new Hyundai Kona 65kWh. Is it in fact 65kWh? How much does that translate into range on a typical UK journey from city A to city B?
Let's drive from 100% state of charge to as close to 0% as we can, in one go, to try and assess that capacity. This will serve as benchmark when looking to assess degradation of the battery when the car has tens of thousands of miles on the odometer.
For today the car only has c3000 miles on the odometer, so while that's not exactly a brand new car, it's pretty close. In fact it's one of the first times it's actually charged to 100%.
In passing, we share some typical efficiency stats for the Kona Ultimate 17 inch wheel model, while driving in the UK where average speeds are not the highest, between road works, traffic and the various rural or sub-urban roads you end up finding yourselves on.
