Humayun's Tomb & Sunset at Qutub Minar - Last Days in Delhi
Day 7 of my India Golden Triangle adventure took us from the beauty of Agra back to Delhi, marking the final day of an unforgettable tour through North India.

We started the morning with breakfast at the Walk to Taj Hotel before packing our bags and leaving Agra at 8am for the drive back to Delhi.
Humayun's Tomb - UNESCO World Heritage Site
By 12.45pm, we arrived at the magnificent Humayun's Tomb, one of Delhi's most important Mughal monuments and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This stunning 16th-century tomb is often called the inspiration for the Taj Mahal, and you can see why.
With its peaceful Persian-style Charbagh gardens, striking red sandstone and white marble architecture, and perfectly symmetrical design, Humayun's Tomb felt like a calm oasis in the middle of Delhi's busy energy. Built by Empress Bega Begum for Emperor Humayun in 1565, this was India's first garden tomb and set the standard for all Mughal architecture that followed.
The tomb complex is home to over 150 members of the Mughal royal family, and walking through the arches, pathways, and gardens was absolutely mesmerizing.
Long Lunch Break
After exploring Humayun's Tomb, we had lunch a bit of a muddled afternoon, but full of laughs and good food with the group.
Qutub Minar at Sunset - World's Tallest Brick Minaret
Our final stop of the entire Golden Triangle tour was Qutub Minar, and arriving at sunset was absolutely perfect timing. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is the tallest brick minaret in the world at 73 meters high, built in the early 1200s - making it nearly 800 years old.
The intricate carvings, historic ruins, and surrounding ancient complex were fascinating to explore. Watching the warm sunset light hit the red sandstone tower was magical and such a perfect way to end this incredible journey through India's Golden Triangle.
Returning to Delhi - End of Tour
We returned to the Classic Diplomat Hotel in Delhi, the same place where our adventure first began 7 days earlier. Coming full circle like this really made me reflect on everything I'd experienced.
I can honestly say this Golden Triangle tour has been one of the best travel experiences I've had in India. The history, the colour, the chaos, the beauty, the people... India gives you something you never forget.
