UCLA Anderson’s 2026 Healthcare Analytics Symposium convened under the theme Engineering Tomorrow’s Value-Based Healthcare System. A panel of experts in agentic analytics linked the strategic challenges of liability, governance, human intuition and accountability to the future of the workforce and the design and deployment of AI-enabled decision-support systems. They explored the advantages and failures of automation, agreeing that it’s less efficient to assign humans the non-clinical jobs in healthcare — for example, financial decisions, contract negotiations, outreach prioritization — but that “the bar only goes up as you get more and more clinical.”
