AIC & AAAA Launch Exciting New EV Initiative For Aftermarket Auto Innovation Centre 2023-07-27 | The Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association (AAAA) and the Auto Innovation Centre (AIC) are excited to launch a new EV initiative set to benefit the automotive aftermarket industry. Thanks to a partnership with the Victorian Government via the ZEV Commercial Sector Innovation Fund, the AIC has taken delivery of two exciting new EVs: a Polestar 2, and what is currently the only commercially available Ford F-150 Lightning in Australia. The new vehicles will form the foundation of a dedicated joint AAAA & AIC campaign to support the aftermarket through the coming EV transition with training and product development opportunities, and to help promote the uptake of EVs in Victorian fleets. 300 Series LandCruiser Arrives at AIC For Testing and 3D Scanning Auto Innovation Centre 2021-12-08 | This is our Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series GXL we have bought as a development mule for the aftermarket. We will tear it down, scan it with extremely high quality scan data that can be purchased to help your development, and then the car will be used for testing. We have a new GVM Upgrade project kicking off where we are offering a one-stop-shop for the approval. You supply the suspension kit to us and we do the rest: testing, structural assessment, SSM submission and evidence pack for state approval. We have spare parts coming for destructive fatigue and material testing and all that data is included in our offering. Give us a call if you are interested in this.Our testing will commence approximately February next year for those companies with prototypes already underway. We have the brake setup ready for ADR35 compliance to cover all specs of the vehicle, and our robot will be back from the UK ready for ESC testing. 3D Scanning at the Auto Innovation Centre Auto Innovation Centre 2020-04-27 | 3D laser scanning allows accurate models to be generated from actual component parts and vehicles. AIC has Metrascan 750 Elite and Kreon Skyline scanners. While both offer highly accurate data capture, the Metrascan is suited to larger objects like vehicle bodies and chassis. The Kreon is an arm mounted scanner best suited to detailed scans and probing of individual components, for example suspension arms, brackets and connectors.
