Ever wondered if you can turn an old piece of firewood into something functional? In this video, I’ll show you how I did just that using a few basic woodturning tools and techniques—perfect for beginners!
I used my Harvey T60S lathe along with Easy Wood Tools’ carbide turning tools to shape the wood. After sanding it smooth with Klingspor sandpaper up to 240 grit, I finished it off with several coats of Hampshire Sheen food-safe Danish oil—great for dry or soft (punky) wood like this.
Whether you're new to woodturning or just looking for a simple project idea, this is a fun way to turn scrap wood into something useful!
