I have been scarifying various lawns for over 40 years but my old petrol scarifier is just too heavy and now quite difficult to start. I have just bought the Stihl RLA 240 battery scarifier from APS Garden Machinery here in the UK. It is absolutely brilliant, quick to assemble, very easy to use and excellent value for money. In this video I give some tips about scarifying lawns whilst demonstrating the lovely Stihl machine. It uses the AK range of batteries and Stihl recommend the AK30 - currently the one with the largest capacity. For me the advantage is that all my other garden machines use the same battery.
