A major piece in designing this kirigami art puzzle was learning about the Dudeney's Haberdasher Puzzle from a 2022 orgami tutoring session I had with Cliff Landesman, who had independently discovered the isosceles triangle variation of the Haberdasher Puzzle. Upon further research he learned that others had already discovered it, I'm guessing, including Dudeney himself, as I would think that would be the natural progression to discovering the equilateral triangle dissection.
