How to make a large Sea & Sky journal, with handpainted papers, envelopes and the French Link Stitch  @LouiseJannetta

In this video, Louise demonstrates in a tutorial how she has compiled the papers that she made in her How to make loads of mark-making techniques video. (see the link to the video below). The papers painted in this video are cut and sewn into signatures to make the interior of a large Sea & Sky journal. Louise uses the French Link Bookbinding stitch to sew the papers and then clams the sewn signatures and glues them together to reinforce the spine.

The result is a collection of beautiful visual prompts that evoke the rhythm, sounds, colours, mood and spirit of the sea.

You will need
Needle
Waxed linen thread
Scissors
sharp punch or awl
paper clips or bulldog clips
Strong paper/card or plastic strip to use as a template for the holes for your signatures.
Papers for the signatures and for the envelopes cut and made to the size you want for your journal.
Bookbinding Glue
Cotton rich paper to stick to the stitched spine.
Clean work surface.
