In this DROPS video we show you how to increase 1 stitch between 2 stitches, leaving a small hole. The increases can be worked individually or you can work several increases above each other creating a line of holes; great for raglan for example.

BEFORE STARTING THE VIDEO:
Increase on each side of 1 stitch. Work stocking stitch to where you are going to increase.

THE VIDEO SHOWS:
RIGHT SIDE:
The increase is worked by using the left needle to pick up the strand between 2 stitches on the row below. The strand is picked up through the back and the stitch is knitted through the stitch loop which lies on the back of the needle. Work 1 stocking stitch and repeat the increase. If you are increasing several times above each other (i.e., on every 2nd row), remember to make sure that the increases are on each side of the same stitch.
