Description: How to change your battery in a car with some tips. My example is my 1995 Nissan Pathfinder which is based on the D21 truck.
So here's the steps:
- Look up your battery at a auto parts store on line. You can pick one that has higher amperage, and a longer warranty. Most batteries carry a 1 to 3 year warranty.
- If you purchase one from your local parts store most of them will install it for free.
- If you do the install yourself either from a new purchase or a swap in from another vehicle you need to do the following steps:
1. Disconnect the battery Terminals, usually the negative first.
2. Remove the battery hold down strap or block.
3. Remove the battery. Don't get the battery acid on your clothes or cloth interior. So after handling the battery don't touch those items.
4. Clean the new battery terminals.
5. Clean the batter cable clamps.
6. Clean the area where the battery goes.
7. Put the battery in place.
8. Install the hold down strap or block. Clean the bolts and use anti-seize on them.
9. Connect the battery cable terminals on the battery and snug them up with a 10mm box wrench.
10. Start the car.
11. Take the old battery to the store and get your core charge back.
