While it is still important to edit and optimize your YouTube channel, far more people will end up watching your videos on a YouTube watch page. Make sure you're taking advantage of YouTube's biggest little branding space known as the watch page icon, watch page banner, or "that picture where your username usually is".

Check your YouTube analytics and you'll see that most people watch your videos on a YouTube watch page and NOT your channel page.
Whether you call it a watch page icon, a video page banner, or a logotron 5000, this tiny little image can have a huge impact on your channel.
Hey, why don't we just show you how to make one?

What's that? Oh, no I've had it for awhile...DOH!
The watch page channel icon appears on the top left corner of your video where your username usually is.
The image itself must be 25 pixels high with a flexible width of up to 170 pixels.
To get started, go to your channel and click on the Channel Settings button
As long as your're a YouTube partner, you'll see options for your channel banner and watch page icon on the right of the appearance tab
If you don't see these options, you might want to learn more about becoming a YouTube Partner, by clicking this portal. Otherwise all you need to do is upload the watch page banner you've created and click "Done editing"
Be sure to try a couple of different banner syles and see what works best for you
Yeah, some people use a logo, while other people use the space to drive subscriptions, or let viewers know when new videos are uploaded so make sure you're taking advantage of YouTube's biggest little branding space
