The smiler is an impressive roller coaster, fitting in a record breaking 14 inversions in it’s layout. Alton towers cannot built the tallest or fastest rides so this was probably the only world record they had a chance of breaking. I have some issues with the ride however that will become apparent in the review section of this video and given the same objective - build a roller coaster with 14 or more inversions in the allowable space, I would of come up with something quite different, something that you may find rather interesting.
The working title for this episode was “how one wouldst hath buildeth the smiler"
