The purpose of this talk is to offer historical context to the horrific violence occurring in the ongoing Hamas/Israeli conflict. Join History Professors Jim McIntyre and Merri Fefles-Dunkle as they examine key moments from the last 100 years, from the founding of the state of Israel to the history of American involvement and more.
It is important to note that this is focused on past events (i.e. The Balfour Declaration, 1948 founding of Israel, 1967 Six Day War, etc.). It is our hope that students who know little about the names they are hearing on social media or the news may walk away with more knowledge.
